A fully bespoke return to form

Rio marked the first collaboration between CRN and Omega Architects since the 73 metre Yalla in 2014, and the reunion produced something special. She was built entirely to order at Ancona, with no concessions to a stock platform. The four deck yacht measures 1,218 GT and carries the full-custom DNA that defines the yard. Delivered in May 2022, she quickly became a reference point for the modern CRN. Her reception showed the yard at the top of its game after six decades of building.

The project was managed during construction under the working name Project C138. CRN and the design team worked closely with the owner's representatives to keep the build tightly bespoke throughout. Every major space was drawn specifically for this owner and this way of cruising. The care shows in how completely the exterior and interior speak the same design language. Nothing feels borrowed, which is the mark of a genuine one-off.

Omega's sporty, near-vertical bow

Omega Architects gave Rio a supremely sporty exterior defined by a near-vertical bow and gentle arches in the superstructure. Long runs of glazing stretch along her sides, thinning the boundary between inside and out. The profile is athletic and low, carrying speed to the eye even at rest. That styling earned her an award for exterior design at the 2023 BOAT International ceremony. She looks every inch a modern yacht built for owners who follow design closely.

The naval architecture, also recognised at the same awards, underpins that clean look. A slippery hull form lets her move efficiently while keeping a settled ride in a seaway. White slatted and backlit walls add texture and a clean sense of depth to the main rooms. Natural light was treated as a primary material, so the interior feels open across all four decks. The mood is a deliberate departure from the sombre yachts of an earlier generation.

The layout carries up to twelve guests, with an owner's suite and five further staterooms. Full-height glazing keeps the sea in view from the main social spaces at all times. The design is playful and confident, and it wears colour with real assurance. For an owner it is a home that lifts the spirits on grey days and bright ones alike.
