40MXP

The 40MXP opened Numarine's Mediterranean Explorer line, taking the engineering of the bestselling 37XP and spending the extra metres on a glass sided pool, a vast aft deck and a beach club that runs the full eight metre beam. First hull Miouch was delivered in August 2025, sistership Mitan followed within months and made the model's world debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March 2026.

What MXP actually means

MXP stands for Mediterranean Explorer, and the 40MXP was the first yacht to wear the badge. Numarine's pitch is the freedom to roam the world paired with expansive outdoor living, which sounds like brochure language right up to the moment of standing on the aft deck. The yard took its proven 37XP platform, stretched the design to 39.42 metres, and gave everything gained to the water level lifestyle a Mediterranean summer actually runs on.

The result is a 379 GT displacement yacht with a steel hull and GRP superstructure that still posts genuine expedition numbers. Nothing about the beach club treatment softened the range figure, the tankage or the class notation. That refusal to trade capability for lifestyle is the whole point of the line, and it is why the model found buyers before the first hull was wet.

The transom is the showpiece

The signature feature is a pool with a glass transom face, connected to a hydraulic swim platform, with the beach club spreading across the full eight metre beam behind it. Add the al fresco dining, bar and lounge on the aft main deck and the stern of the 40MXP works as one continuous resort, from the waterline up. Trade press covering the Palm Beach debut called it the ultimate beach club experience at this size.

The clever move sits one deck up. The owner's suite is placed on the upper deck and opens directly onto its own aft terrace, so the best real estate on board belongs to the person paying for it. On Mitan the interior runs to a calm palette of cool tones, rich woods and grey veined marbles, a scheme drawn to let the sea through the glass do the decorating.

The 37XP underneath

Beneath the lifestyle hardware the 40MXP is pure XP. Umberto Tagliavini's full displacement steel hull carries a 2.62 metre draft, RINA Pleasure class and the same machinery as the 37XP, twin MAN diesels of 800 hp in standard form or 900 hp in the heavy duty Tier III configuration with SCR exhaust treatment. Numarine quotes an 18 month build, which is series production speed for a 379 GT steel yacht.

Sharing the platform matters to a buyer in concrete ways. The hull form has thousands of sea miles behind it across the 37XP fleet, spares and service points are already mapped, and the crew hired for her can lean on an established operating picture. First-of-line risk, the usual tax on a new model, was largely paid off by the sisterships that came before.

Six thousand miles at eight knots

Top speed is 14 knots and the sensible cruise is 12, but the defining number is at the economical end. At 8 knots the 40MXP draws down its 49,000 litres of fuel slowly enough to cover 6,000 nautical miles, the same headline range as the yard's 45 and 47 metre flagships. A crossing to the Caribbean, done on the boat's own bottom, is as routine as it is for a small commercial ship.

That capability changes how the yacht gets used. Owners can winter the boat in the Caribbean and summer in the Balearics without positioning logistics dominating the calendar, or push into the Red Sea and Indian Ocean with fuel planning as a footnote. The MXP badge promises the Mediterranean, but the tanks are sized for everywhere else.

A series already moving

Miouch, the first 40MXP, was delivered in August 2025. Mitan, the second, followed in October 2025 for South American owners and introduced the model to the public at Palm Beach in March 2026, the first time the design had been shown in the United States. A third unit is under construction at Gebze with delivery scheduled for 2026, and the trade press already describes the 40MXP as a popular series.

Accommodation follows the 37XP formula, up to 12 guests in six cabins with two convertible spaces, and berths for nine crew. For owners weighing the 40MXP against the 37XP the calculation is simple. Same bones, same range, same build time, with the premium buying the pool, the beam wide beach club and the upper deck owner's terrace. The order book suggests many find that persuasive.
