The DOM that started the line

The DOM133 has been the mainstay of Baglietto's DOM range since production began around 2022. Several hulls have been delivered, including the 2024 yacht Astera, which makes it the most proven model in the line. At about 40 metres it steps up from the DOM115 into a class that carries more guests and covers longer distances between ports. The steady flow of deliveries has kept the model in build across several years. The success of these early hulls encouraged Baglietto to extend the range in both directions.

The model sits at 398 GT, a useful jump in volume over the smaller DOM. Its aluminium hull marks a change from the steel DOM115, which lifts performance for its size. The DOM133 has come to define what the line stands for. New examples remain available to order today. It is the reference point buyers reach for when they picture the DOM line.

The centre of the DOM range

The DOM line is drawn by Studio Vafiadis and built around contemporary volume within a sub-500 GT envelope. The DOM133 sits between the 34.5 metre DOM115 and the 46 metre DOM155 flagship. It shares the family's low profile and wide glazing while offering more length for interior and deck space. Owners who find the DOM115 tight and the DOM155 large often settle here. The middle position gives it the broadest appeal in the range.

Being the established model, the DOM133 has the longest track record in the family. That gives buyers a known quantity in layout and performance. The line's promise of long, comfortable cruising is fully expressed at this size. Several owners have taken delivery and put the design to real use. It is the model against which the others are measured.

The proven middle of the DOM line, quicker and roomier than the smaller DOM.

Aluminium and glass

Stefano Vafiadis shaped the exterior, carrying the DOM line look across a 40 metre hull. The all-aluminium construction of hull and superstructure keeps weight down and helps the yacht reach higher speeds than the steel DOM115. A beam of about 8.7 metres and a shallow 2.1 metre draft open out the decks and widen cruising options. Teak decking runs across the outdoor areas. The proportions stay close to the smaller DOM while gaining useful deck length.

The exterior gives over large areas to open-air living. Sun and shade are balanced across the flybridge and aft decks. The low draft suits the shallow bays of the Mediterranean and the Bahamas alike, opening anchorages that deeper yachts must skip. Wide side windows tie the interior to the sea around it. The extra length shows in the size of the sun deck.

Room for twelve

Stefano Vafiadis also led the interior, keeping a consistent hand across the yacht. The DOM133 sleeps up to twelve guests, with layouts that have run to five or six cabins depending on the hull. The 398 GT volume gives generous social spaces on the main deck. Owners can tailor finish and layout within the platform. That flexibility has produced noticeably different interiors from one hull to the next.

Crew accommodation supports up to nine, enough for full service on longer trips. The extra length over the DOM115 shows most in the size of the saloon and the owner's quarters. Storage and tender stowage scale up with the hull. The layout keeps guest and crew movement clear of one another. The interior is built for weeks aboard rather than days.

More pace than the smaller DOM

Twin Caterpillar diesels push the DOM133 to a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots, quick figures for a displacement yacht of this size. Range reaches about 3,000 nautical miles at an economical 10 knots. The aluminium hull is the main reason the numbers beat the steel DOM115. This is a yacht that can move between cruising grounds under its own power without long delivery legs. The pace makes a shorter season cover more ground.

The DOM133 suits an owner who wants displacement comfort with a bit more speed and reach. It carries more guests and crew than the DOM115 while staying below the 500 GT line. For family use or a light charter programme it offers a well-proven package with several hulls already in service. Its track record lowers the risk for a first Baglietto. The balance of volume and pace is what keeps it central to the line.

What the builder does and does not publish

Boat International's spec sheet for the DOM133 lists a 3,000-nautical-mile range at a 10-knot cruise on twin Caterpillar C32 diesels rated near 1,600hp each, with a 17-knot top speed and a 15-knot cruise. A separate review by licensed captain Victoria Chalaya for NautiStyles, after time aboard, instead logged a 10-12 knot cruise at 1,800rpm burning roughly 200 litres an hour and put the range at approximately 5,000nm 'theoretical, at reduced speeds' -- a materially different figure from the builder's own chart. Neither figure should be read as settled; they describe different test conditions, not a single fixed number.

What both sources agree on is the shallow 2.1-metre draft that lets the DOM133 work Bahamas-depth water most 40-metre yachts cannot reach, and the twin Idromar watermakers rated at roughly 800 litres an hour. Baglietto's own site also lists an optional hybrid propulsion system, pairing the diesels with lithium batteries and variable-speed generators for silent low-speed running -- an option a buyer has to specify, not a standard fitting. Baglietto's own press office has confirmed at least 14 hulls sold in the DOM133 line as of the most recent announcement, with deliveries running from the first hull, Attitude, in 2022 through further hulls contracted out to 2028 -- a production run few 40-metre semi-custom designs match.

Сильные стороны и что учесть

Сильные стороны

  • A genuinely shallow-draft 40-metre yachtAt 2.1m draft, Baglietto's own builder page notes the DOM133 can work Bahamas-depth anchorages that most 40-metre yachts cannot reach, and this is confirmed independently by both Boat International's spec sheet and the NautiStyles review.
  • A real three-level beach club, not a marketing labelBaglietto's own description covers a lifting-floor infinity pool that extends the main-deck cockpit while docked, spread across three levels -- an unusually elaborate beach-club structure for the size.
  • A production line with a genuine sales recordBaglietto's own press releases confirm at least 14 hulls sold in the DOM133 series with deliveries running from 2022 (Attitude, hull one) through a 2028-delivery hull sold most recently -- this is a proven series, not a one-off design exercise.

На что обратить внимание

  • Published range figures for the class do not agreeBoat International's spec sheet states 3,000nm at a 10-knot cruise; the NautiStyles review cites 'approximately 5,000 nautical miles (theoretical, at reduced speeds)'; broker listings elsewhere quote 4,000-6,400nm. These are different enough that no single range figure here should be taken as settled -- treat any one number as one source's estimate, not a confirmed spec.
  • Guest and cabin counts vary between sourcesBoat International lists 12 guests in 6 staterooms with 9 crew; other broker listings for the series describe 10 guests in 5 cabins -- likely reflecting different owner layouts across the 14-hull series rather than an error, but it means no single cabin count applies to every DOM133 built.
  • The advanced hybrid propulsion is optional, not standardBaglietto's own site describes the lithium-battery hybrid system (silent low-speed running, variable-speed generators) as built for an 'optional' configuration -- a buyer has to specify it, it does not come with the base diesel package.
