Five staterooms where four is ambitious
The Nomad 70's defining number is below deck. Five guest staterooms on a 21.5 metre hull is a count the mainstream European yards do not attempt at this length, and it converts directly into how the boat gets used, three generations aboard for the school holidays, or two families sharing a season without anyone sleeping in the salon. The 70 arrived in 2022 as the explorer range's newest platform, and it shows in the details. Phathom Studio, the Dutch practice behind the modern Majesty generation, worked on the design, bringing lighter interiors and cleaner exterior surfaces to a line that had leaned rugged, and the 6.04 metre beam is carried well forward for volume where the cabins live.
The engineering stays classic Nomad, GRP semi-displacement hull, tall protective bulwarks, deep side decks and systems sized for anchoring out, a 28 kW generator and 6,814 litres of fuel among them. Gulf Craft pitches her as an owner's yacht for genuine distance, the kind of boat that treats a Sydney to Great Barrier Reef season as its design basis.

Standard power is a pair of MAN V8-1200 diesels, with Caterpillar and MTU alternatives offered for owners with fleet loyalties or regional service preferences, and the top end sits around 26 knots. That is fast company for an explorer, most boats wearing the label give up ten of those knots before leaving the dock. The pace matters on real itineraries, weather windows are short, and a fast explorer uses them.
Settle to displacement speed and the hull returns better than 2,000 nautical miles, the Gulf to the Maldives with margin, or an Aegean summer without a fuel berth in the plan. The 1.59 metre draft slips over the sandbars and inside the reef lagoons that deeper explorer hulls admire from outside, which in this size class is where the good anchorages are. It is a draft that lets the boat follow its own tender most of the way to the beach.
Deck space that works for a living
The exterior follows explorer logic scaled to owner-operation. The foredeck carries seating and sun space clear of the anchor gear, the flybridge runs helm, dining and lounging under one span, and the cockpit connects to the swim platform for tender and toy operations that one adult can manage while another watches the children.
Bulwark height and rail design are drawn for open water first, a detail families notice the first time the boat rolls through a ferry wake with a toddler on deck. The salon's panoramic glazing keeps the anchorage in view from the galley, and cold storage and stowage volumes are specified for provisioning weeks out.

She sits below the 75 in the hierarchy but postdates it in design, which makes her the freshest thinking in the fleet at this size.
