A yacht built to roam

Endeavour II hit the water in Viareggio in early 2017 and was delivered to her owner that August. She was conceived as a globetrotting yacht, drawn to carry her family across oceans and into remote cruising grounds. The brief called for genuine range and self-sufficiency in a 50 metre package. From the first sketches she was an explorer at heart. The brief asked for a yacht that could vanish over the horizon for months.

The yacht went on to win a 2018 International Superyacht Society award, recognition of a well resolved and purposeful design. She showed that Rossinavi could build a long-range explorer with the same polish as its fast aluminium yachts. For an owner she offered the reach of a much larger vessel in a manageable size. She remains one of the yard's most quietly capable projects. That capability inside a 50 metre package is exactly what makes her special.

Minimalist by request

Enrico Gobbi and Team for Design gave Endeavour II a clean and understated exterior at the owner's request, a profile designed to blend into wild surroundings. The tri-deck form is calm and horizontal, with restrained detailing and generous glazing. This is a yacht drawn to look at home in a Norwegian fjord or a Pacific lagoon. The styling favours quiet confidence over spectacle. The calm face was a deliberate choice by an owner with somewhere wild in mind.

Behind the calm face sits a serious platform for time away from marinas. Deck spaces were planned for tenders, toys and expedition kit as much as for sunbathing. The exterior supports long stays in places without support services nearby. Endeavour II is dressed for adventure without ever looking rugged or industrial. She carries her expedition intent without ever looking utilitarian.

Salvagni within

Achille Salvagni's studio shaped the interior, bringing warmth and craft to a yacht built for long passages. Accommodation is arranged for up to ten guests across five staterooms, with a spacious owner's suite on the main deck. The rooms are calm and tactile, designed to feel like a refuge after days at sea. Materials and lighting were chosen to reward extended time aboard. After a hard passage the interior feels like a proper refuge.

The layout supports self-sufficient living for weeks at a time, with the volume to store what a remote itinerary demands. Salvagni balanced comfort with the practical needs of an expedition programme. Guest and crew flows are kept separate so the yacht runs smoothly far from help. The interior turns a capable hull into a genuine home. Weeks away from a marina hold no fear for a yacht fitted like this.

Endeavour II is powered by a Caterpillar diesel-electric system driving Rolls-Royce pods, a configuration chosen for efficiency and quiet running. With a gross tonnage under 500 she keeps her regulatory footprint modest while offering real capability. Her range reaches roughly 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, enough to cross oceans and reach far from home. Top speed sits near 16 knots for the occasional faster leg. The quiet pods let her slip into pristine bays without disturbing them.

The diesel-electric choice also foreshadows the direction Rossinavi would take with its later hybrid work. Efficient, quiet propulsion suits a yacht meant to spend long periods in pristine anchorages. The pods improve manoeuvrability in tight or unfamiliar harbours.
