Sanlorenzo SP92

The SP92 is the smaller of Sanlorenzo's Smart Performance sport yachts, a twenty-eight metre waterjet boat that reaches close to 40 knots. Shown at Cannes in 2024, it reworks the ideas of the larger SP110 into a more compact hull. It gives owners genuine speed and shallow-water freedom with a full luxury interior.

Smart Performance, compact

The SP92 sits below the SP110 in Sanlorenzo's Smart Performance line, the range the yard created to enter the fast sport-yacht market. Presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2024 alongside the SL86, it brings the SP concept to a smaller and more attainable size. The name signals the aim, speed delivered with efficiency built in. It reinterprets the SP110 project for a smaller hull, carrying its core ideas into a new size.

Built in composite by the Yacht Division to individual order, the SP92 marks the yard's continued push into a segment it long left to others. Its role is the accessible SP, quick and playful yet finished to full Sanlorenzo standard. It suits owners who want performance without the size of the flagship.

Fast lines, shallow draught

The exterior is by Zuccon International Project, drawn with the low, aggressive stance that marks the SP line. The boat is driven by waterjets, which give it both its speed and a very shallow draught. That low draught opens up cruising grounds a deeper yacht cannot reach, letting the SP92 nose into shallow bays and close to the beach. The design reads as taut and purposeful.

Despite the sporting shape, the deck spaces are drawn for real life at anchor, with room to lounge and to launch toys. The waterjet package sits neatly within the hull, keeping the profile clean. The whole boat carries genuine energy at the dock. Speed and shallow-water reach are what the SP92 sells on the water.

The SP92 packs near-40-knot waterjet pace and shallow-draught freedom into a compact luxury sport yacht.

Calm inside the sportboat

Inside, the SP92 accommodates eight guests and a crew of four, finished as a proper luxury yacht and not a stripped-out racer. The interior is by Piero Lissoni, who brings daylight and a sense of openness that offsets the aggressive exterior. Materials and detailing follow the restrained house style set across the Sanlorenzo range. The result is a fast boat that still reads as calm inside.

The layout puts the main-deck living and the connection to the outside first, suited to warm-water, high-speed cruising. Guest accommodation sits below, leaving the main deck for the shared spaces where owners spend their days. Split levels and low glazing keep daylight moving through the interior even at the boat's sporting freeboard. It is a boat built for active use over long static stays. Comfort and light temper the sporting character.

Speed with a conscience

The SP92 is driven by twin MAN V12 engines feeding waterjets, offered at around 2,000 or 2,200 hp each for roughly 4,000 hp in total. That gives a reported top speed of about 38 to 40 knots, real sport-yacht pace. The waterjets and shallow draught let the boat run fast and still reach places deeper yachts avoid. Fuel is carried at around 8,500 litres.

The SP line is built around the idea that speed need not mean waste, and the SP92 carries efficiency measures in the spirit of Sanlorenzo's wider work on emissions. The engineering stays proven and serviceable, in line with the yard's standards. The boat is tuned to be driven hard and cruised in comfort. It is a genuine performance yacht with a luxury heart.

Who the SP92 suits

The SP92 suits the owner who wants genuine speed and shallow-water freedom in a boat smaller and more manageable than the SP110. It rewards active cruising, moving quickly between anchorages and reaching coves that deeper yachts cannot. Its full luxury interior means no compromise on comfort. For a Sanlorenzo owner wanting something faster and more playful, it is a compelling choice.

In the market it stands fairly alone, since few yards of Sanlorenzo's standing build a waterjet sport yacht at this size and finish. That rarity is part of its appeal. For a buyer drawn to pace and shallow draught, the SP92 answers directly. It gives the range a quick, compact halo below the flagship SP.

Who it is for: An owner who wants real waterjet speed and shallow-draught freedom in a compact, fully finished sport yacht.
