Principessa Capricciosa is the fourth yacht in the Atlantique line and its smallest, sitting under a range that runs to 65m. Columbus, the custom brand of Palumbo Superyachts in Savona, built both hull and superstructure in aluminium and delivered her in June 2026. Twin 2,000hp MAN engines give her a comfortable cruising pace in the high teens.
The 299 GT figure is the one that matters to a buyer. Staying under 300 tons points to a light build, and it holds fuel burn, crew numbers and the regulatory load closer to a smaller yacht than the volume inside would suggest.
Hot Lab styles inside and out
The reveal ahead of the shows is the interior, drawn by the Milan studio Hot Lab, which also shaped the exterior. The profile borrows from classic sailing yachts, with a low, clean superstructure rather than the stacked decks common at this length.
An owner's suite sits on the main deck with four cabins below, taking up to twelve guests, while a crew of six plus a captain live forward on the lower deck. Because one studio owns the whole look, the boat reads as a single idea rather than a hull with a separate interior bolted on.
Where it lands at Cannes and Monaco
Principessa Capricciosa makes her public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026 and then moves to the Monaco Yacht Show. Both are shop windows for the sub-40m custom market, where Columbus is pushing against series builders offering more standard product at the same length.
For a buyer weighing a 38m, the pitch is a custom aluminium yacht that behaves like a bigger one on paper but costs like a smaller one to keep. Whether that trade holds up against a heavier production 40m is the question the shows will answer.
