A hundred-footer with a running start

The FD100 arrived with its homework already done. Its close relative the FD102 delivered hull one to European owners in February 2020 and the second boat, To-Kalon, to American owners later that same year, so by the time the FD100 was introduced at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale show the 100 foot fast displacement platform was proven in service on two continents. Horizon used that head start well, offering the FD100 from the outset in both of the series' established top-deck configurations.

The pace has not slackened. Horizon delivered the FD100 Kismet in 2024 and later published a long feature on her owners' build journey, and in early 2026 the yard unveiled the world's first FD100 Skyline, identified as hull 15 of the platform, ahead of its Open House debut. That boat sold to an experienced Australian owner, announced in May 2026.

Same bow, two personalities

The Tri-Deck version tops the boat with a lightweight open flybridge carrying a helm and seating, trading enclosed volume for sky and sightlines, the configuration Kismet's owners chose for island cruising. The Skyline replaces it with a large wheelhouse and an enclosed skylounge aft, effectively adding a weatherproof entertaining deck for owners in hotter or colder climates.

Beneath the two silhouettes the boats are the same: the High Performance Piercing Bow drawn with Cor D. Rover pushing volume forward, a beach club arrangement at the transom, and dining and lounging spread across the aft decks. Choosing between them is a climate and lifestyle question, and Horizon builds both from the same tooling.

The numbers behind the volume

The FD100 measures 30.97 meters overall on a 28.15 meter waterline, with the series-typical 7.25 meter beam carried well forward and a draft of just 1.88 meters. Displacement is 128 tons, and power comes from twin Caterpillar C32A diesels of 1,600 horsepower each with Kohler generators of 45 or 53 kW depending on electrical standard.

Fuel capacity is 15,140 liters, about 4,000 US gallons, with 1,500 liters of fresh water topped up by watermakers on any seriously cruised example. The fast displacement form holds its efficiency at unhurried speeds, and the shallow draft keeps the Exumas, the Keys and Queensland's reef anchorages all within the program. The machinery sits under commercial-grade access, and the generator options cover either shore-power standard, details that matter more in year five of ownership than at the boat show.

Five staterooms inside 101 feet

Accommodation is the reason this model exists: five staterooms including a full-beam master on the main deck, an arrangement most builders reserve for boats ten meters longer. Four en-suite guest cabins sit below, and crew quarters in two cabins sleep the four crew that a boat of this size and systems complexity comfortably runs with.

Horizon's semi-custom process shapes every delivery. Kismet's owners worked their preferences through the yard's design team over the course of the build, and the first Skyline carries its own tailored specification. The joinery, stonework and layout changes happen in-house in Kaohsiung, which keeps one-off requests from carrying one-off price tags. Nothing about the process requires an owner to fly to Kaohsiung more often than they wish, though many discover the yard's annual Open House and go anyway.

Why the hundred-foot slot sells

A hundred feet is where real superyacht accommodation meets manageable ownership. The FD100 offers the five-cabin, ten-guest format the charter market values, yet it berths in ordinary big-boat marinas, transits the Intracoastal and runs with a crew small enough to know every guest's name. That balance explains why the platform reached fifteen hulls within six years. It is also the size where charter placement starts to make financial sense for owners who want the boat working between family seasons, and the five-cabin format is what booking agents ask for first.

It also explains the geography of its owners, spread across the United States, Europe and Australia, each served by Horizon's factory-direct offices. For a buyer weighing the step from a FD90 or an 85 footer of any brand, the FD100 is the point where the boat stops being a bigger cruiser and starts being a small superyacht.
