Lady Vera

Lady Vera is the closest thing Nobiskrug has to a flagship still in circulation: a 73.5 metre one-off delivered in 2011, refitted in 2023, and back on the brokerage market at an asking price of EUR 85 million through Parsifal Yachting.

From Sapphire to Lady Vera

Lady Vera did not begin life under that name. Nobiskrug launched the hull in January 2011 as Sapphire, a 73.51 to 73.52 metre motor yacht (brokerage sources vary by a few centimetres) designed in-house by Nobiskrug's naval architecture team with exterior and interior styling by Newcruise-Yacht Projects and Design, and delivered to her first owner in February 2011. She was later renamed Lady Vera, the name under which she has traded, chartered and been photographed for most of her working life, and the name under which she is marketed today. Custom one-off yachts of this size are frequently delivered under a working or placeholder name and renamed on handover or resale, and Sapphire to Lady Vera is a fairly typical example of that pattern rather than anything unusual to this hull.

Underneath the name changes, the specification is straightforward heavy-displacement German engineering: a steel hull with an aluminium and GRP superstructure, teak decking, a gross tonnage in the region of 1,585 to 1,591 tonnes depending on which registry or brokerage listing is consulted, a beam that different brokerage sheets place anywhere between roughly 12 and 12.6 metres, and a draft of 3.65 metres that is at least consistent across sources. Twin MTU 16V4000 M60 diesels, rated at around 2,360 horsepower each, drive her to a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots, with a genuinely long-legged range of 7,300 nautical miles, more than enough to cross an ocean rather than just hop between Mediterranean anchorages. She carries 12 guests in 6 double staterooms with a crew of 16, plus additional bunks for charter staff.

The 2023 Refit: A New Saloon and an Art Deco Beach Club

The headline reason Lady Vera is back in the conversation in 2026 is a 2023 refit that went well beyond a repaint. Boat International's Georgia Boscawen, reviewing the yacht in April 2025, described a main saloon rebuilt around twin seating areas, a black lacquered grand piano and colourful modern artwork, furnished with eclectic decorative touches, among them ceramic dog figurines and coral and crab-shell displays, that read as a genuine design brief rather than a broker's staging exercise. The dining table was reworked to seat all 12 guests together, and the upper deck lounge was opened up for al fresco dining with sea views, a layout better suited to the Greek island charter routes she now works than to her original brief.

The beach club, arguably the more significant change, was rebuilt in an Art Deco style with a full lounge, sauna, hammam and en suite facilities, opening directly onto the sea for tenders and water toys, an amenity category that barely existed when the yacht was built in 2011 and now defines what a charter guest expects from a yacht this size. Elsewhere the refit touched a soundproof cinema with Dolby surround sound, a gym and spa, and the outdoor spaces: a helipad that doubles as a yoga and dance deck, and an aft deck fitted with a spa pool, a cinema projector, a bar and deep sun pads. None of this changed the hull or the engineering underneath; it changed what fifteen year old German steel feels like to spend a week aboard.

A genuinely long-legged range of 7,300 nautical miles and a full-time Greek island charter program make Lady Vera a proven, working yacht, even as the yard that built her no longer exists as an independent company.

Life on Charter: Captain Doxas and the Greek Season

Lady Vera works as a full-time Mediterranean charter yacht, marketed by Parsifal Yachting at a weekly rate of EUR 780,000, under Captain Dimitris Doxas, cruising primarily out of Athens through the Cyclades and the wider Greek islands, the itinerary the 2023 refit was clearly built around. Her water toy inventory, tenders, jet skis, seabobs, flyboards, stand-up paddleboards and dive and fishing gear, matches the scale of the boat and the expectations of a charter market at this price where guests expect a small marina's worth of equipment on the swim platform. She carries a Novurania Chase tender of around 12.7 metres alongside a smaller Chris-Craft Silver Bullet runabout, giving her both a serious support tender and a fast day boat.

That charter operation is the strongest evidence that Lady Vera, whatever is happening to her original builder, is a genuinely proven asset rather than a paper listing. A yacht running a real, bookable, named-captain charter program is a different proposition from a static brokerage listing photographed at a dock, and it means anyone chartering or buying her is stepping onto a boat with a working crew and an established routine, not a project that needs to be brought back to life.

Back on the Market: The EUR 85 Million Question

Lady Vera is currently listed for sale at EUR 85 million (roughly USD 98.8 million) through Parsifal Yachting, the same brokerage that charters her, a common arrangement for a yacht being actively marketed on both tracks at once. At 15 years old, she is being sold on the strength of the 2023 refit and her charter earnings history rather than as a like-new asset, and that is the honest framing for any buyer: this is a well-run, well-refitted, mature one-off, not a yacht coming out of build with warranty support behind it. Her owner is not named in any brokerage or press material Yotters could verify, which is normal for a yacht at this level but worth stating plainly rather than guessing.

The harder question for a buyer is what standing behind Lady Vera even means today. Nobiskrug, the yard that built her, is not the company it was when she was delivered as Sapphire in 2011, or even the company it was when she was refitted in 2023: it has been through two insolvencies and is now absorbed into Lurssen's Rendsburg operation rather than trading as an independent builder. That does not affect her seaworthiness or her class certification, which rests with her classification society and flag state rather than the builder's corporate health, but it does mean a buyer cannot call on an independent Nobiskrug for original-build records, warranty history or design-office support the way they could with a yard still trading under its own name. That is a real, specific cost of buying a one-off from a yard that no longer exists as it did.

Cosa convince e cosa va valutato

Punti di forza

  • Genuine ocean-capable range7,300 nautical miles at cruising speed means she can cross an ocean, not just hop the Aegean, a real engineering asset for a heavy-displacement German build.
  • A real refit, not a repaintThe 2023 work rebuilt the main saloon and added an Art Deco beach club, changing how the yacht is actually used rather than just refreshing its look.
  • Proven, working charter assetA named captain and an active weekly charter program with Parsifal Yachting mean she is earning and being maintained as a going concern, not sitting idle waiting for a buyer.

Da valutare

  • Builder no longer exists as an independent companyNobiskrug has been through two insolvencies since 2021 and is now absorbed into Lurssen's Rendsburg operation, so original-build and warranty support from an independent Nobiskrug no longer exists.
  • Even basic particulars are inconsistent across the marketBrokerage listings disagree on her gross tonnage (1,585 versus 1,591) and beam (as little as 12.06 metres versus 12.6 metres), a due diligence flag for a buyer at this price point.
  • Original 2011-era machineryThe main engines and much of the mechanical plant date to her 2011 build; the 2023 refit focused on interior and lifestyle spaces, so a buyer should budget for machinery inspection and likely overhaul separate from the refit already done.
