Wally announced the wallywind range as a three-boat family, and the 150 is its summit. At 45.7 metres with a 9.15 metre beam and 187 tonnes of displacement, this is a genuine sailing superyacht, positioned against the finest Dutch and Italian custom sloops. The difference is that it arrives with Wally's thirty years of big-boat carbon experience baked in, and with the industrial backing of Ferretti Group behind the build.
The project pairs judel/vrolijk, the naval architects behind generations of grand prix and cruiser-racer designs, with exterior and interior design by Luca Bassani and Studio Santa Maria Magnolfi. That is the same creative axis as the smaller wallywind110, already launched and proven, so an owner commissioning the 150 is scaling up a validated concept, with the design language and deck logic carried over from a yacht that is already sailing.
Serious sail power, managed simply
The numbers are substantial. Upwind the sloop rig sets 936 square metres of sail, and downwind the wardrobe grows to 1,800 square metres. A lifting keel takes the draft from 4.5 metres for harbours and anchorages down to a full 7 metres when performance matters, which is how a 187 tonne yacht stays honest on a racecourse. Under power, a 660 hp Caterpillar C12 and 16,000 litres of fuel handle calms and passages between weather systems.
Wally's founding argument was that size should never mean complexity for the people on board, and the 150 restates it at superyacht scale. Sail handling is hydraulic and centralised in the Wally manner, keeping the decks clean and the manoeuvres quiet. Deck life is split with equal clarity. Guests get a large protected cockpit amidships, while the foredeck carries a second, teak-stepped cockpit that opens up once the five metre tender has been launched. With RINA classification and berths for 18 people on board, the 150 is configured for real-world superyacht use, long charters, extended family cruising and a professional crew that can stay out of sight until needed.
Built on a proven range logic
The wallywind range was announced together, and it descends in coherent steps, 45.7 metres, 40 metres, 33 metres. The 110 launched in 2024 and made its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show to strong reviews, which matters for the 150 in a concrete way. Hull shapes, deck hardware philosophy, keel engineering and the glazed deckhouse concept have all been exercised at 33 metres before being scaled to the flagship.
For a buyer, that de-risks what is otherwise a custom-scale commission. Wally and Ferretti Group have already shown they can laminate an all-carbon wallywind hull, integrate a telescopic keel and deliver the range's signature open cockpit spaces. The 150 remains a project, with preliminary data and no announced delivery, so an owner stepping in now can still shape the interior and layout while the fundamentals stay fixed and tested.

The competitive set is small and prestigious, the large performance sloops from the northern European custom yards. Against them the wallywind150 offers a distinct proposition, a lighter, more athletic yacht from the house that invented the modern performance superyacht, with a racing class of its own waiting in the Mediterranean.
