The flagship that reset CRN's scale
Chopi Chopi arrived as a genuine step change for CRN. At 80 metres and around 2,363 GT, she was the yard's largest delivery to that point, and she carried the weight of that ambition in every dimension. The build ran to roughly 660,000 working hours, a figure that hints at how much bespoke detail went into the boat. She reached completion in 2013 after a difficult stretch for the wider industry, which made the achievement more pointed.
The yacht sits across five decks plus a tank deck, offering close to 1,900 square metres of usable space. That volume gave the design team room to spread out living areas that would feel generous even on a larger boat. For the yard, the project proved that a full custom CRN could compete with the biggest names in the 80 metre class. It set a template that later boats such as Cloud 9 and Mimtee would build upon.
A profile drawn for calm authority
The exterior came from Zuccon International Project, a studio with a long history at the yard. The team avoided sharp relief and dramatic angles, choosing a tiered profile that steps down cleanly from bow to stern. The result carries its length without looking heavy, an effect the studio described as a balance between how the boat looks and how it works. Long window bands run along the hull and superstructure, tying the decks together.
Much of the exterior planning turned on privacy for the owner. An upper area was given over to a private deck with a stern terrace, set apart from the main flow of guests. A helipad rated for a three tonne helicopter sits clear of the living spaces, so arrivals and departures do not disturb the rest of the boat. The overall look was meant to age slowly, a quality the yard values on boats expected to stay in a family for years.
The 80 metre flagship that showed how far a full custom CRN could stretch.

Understatement in maple and marble
Laura Sessa handled the interiors, working in a register the yard called elegant understatement. Maple and limed oak appear across the main spaces, some panels finished in a mix of matte and glossy stripes that catch the light as guests move through. Cream Perlatino Europa marble lines the bathrooms and dayheads, giving those rooms a soft and consistent tone. The palette stays quiet, letting the volume of the rooms carry the effect.
The social heart of the boat is the upper deck dining saloon, built around a custom table that seats eighteen. A removable central section, made by Galerie van der Straeten, splits the table into two round settings for smaller groups. Lower down, a beach club opens onto wellness rooms that include a sauna and a hammam, linked to the main saloon by a central interior staircase. Cabins were personalised for the owner's children, a reminder that this is a family boat at heart.
Volume handled with quiet running
Power comes from a pair of Caterpillar diesels, giving a top speed of around 16 knots and a comfortable cruise near 15 knots. At 12 knots the yacht can cover roughly 6,000 nautical miles, which is enough for long ocean passages between seasons. The engineering brief put comfort ahead of outright pace, a choice that suits a boat of this size and purpose. Sound control was a particular focus during the build.
The yard used Rockwool layers and rubber mounted flooring to keep noise down, reaching around 60 decibels in the saloon and 55 in the cabins at speed. On the bridge, a wide I-Chart table from Team Italia gathers navigation and onboard systems into a single high tech console. These are the sort of details that rarely appear in a brochure yet shape daily life aboard. They mark Chopi Chopi as a boat engineered for long stays.
Who Chopi Chopi suits
Chopi Chopi speaks to an owner who wants genuine 80 metre scale without the hard edged styling that some large yachts wear. The private owner's deck and the family cabins point to someone cruising with relatives and close guests aboard for private trips. Long range and quiet running make her a natural fit for owners who move between the Mediterranean and more distant waters. She rewards patience and long term ownership.
In the brokerage market she stands as one of CRN's landmark deliveries and a reference point for the yard's flagship work. Buyers looking at boats of this age will weigh her against other early 2010s giants, where volume and pedigree matter as much as headline speed. Her Zuccon exterior and Sessa interior give her a recognised design lineage that holds value over time. For the right owner she offers a proven platform at true flagship size.

Independent judges recognised the interior at delivery, not just CRN's own account of it
Chopi Chopi won the ShowBoats Design Award for Interior Design and took a Special Commendation at the World Superyacht Awards in 2014, external juries assessing Laura Sessa Romboli's work rather than the yard's own marketing.

Chopi Chopi has never been listed for charter and her reported owner has not spoken publicly about the yacht, so this research found no first hand account of living aboard her, only CRN's own technical release, marine press coverage of her 2013 launch, and the 2014 awards judging.

Сильные стороны и что учесть
Сильные стороны
- A genuine full-custom flagship, not a stretched production hullAt 80 metres and 2,363 GT she was CRN's largest delivery to date in 2013 and remains the yard's biggest completed yacht in 2026, built to a bespoke brief rather than a repeated platform.
- Independent design recognition within a year of deliveryThe interior took the ShowBoats Design Award and a World Superyacht Awards Special Commendation in 2014, external validation of Laura Sessa Romboli's work rather than CRN's own claim for it.
- Real range for genuine long-distance cruising6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, backed by a fuel capacity reported between 250,000 and 300,000 litres depending on the source, is enough for an owner to move between the Mediterranean and further afield without restaging.
На что обратить внимание
- Ownership is reported, never confirmedCRN and the owner have not named him publicly. The Lebanese billionaire Taha Mikati is widely reported as the owner by SuperYachtFan and Lebanese press covering the Mikati family, but this page treats that as reported, not confirmed.
- No independent owner or crew account existsShe has never chartered and no crew or guest testimonial has been published, so nothing here describes daily life aboard her beyond CRN's own release and the 2014 awards-judging commentary.
- Some published figures disagree and cannot be reconciledSources split on crew size (30 per CRN's own release against 30-33 reported elsewhere) and fuel capacity (250,000 litres per CharterWorld against 300,000 per YachtCharterFleet). This page uses CRN's own figures where they exist and flags the rest as unverified rather than averaging them.
