Successor to a best-seller
The 860 replaced the Ferretti 850, one of the most popular models the yard had built, and slotted into the range between the 780 and the larger boats above. Ferretti announced it in 2021 and gave it a world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022. At 26.95 metres it is a proper crewed flybridge yacht rather than an owner-driver boat. The task was to evolve a proven platform without losing what made the 850 sell.
Barche Magazine framed the 860 as a significant evolution of the earlier boat. It keeps the four-cabin, eight-guest layout owners expect at this size, with quarters for five crew. The full-beam master sits amidships on the lower deck, joined by two doubles and a twin. A forward living area on the main deck adds a quieter retreat away from the main saloon.

Salvetti proportions at 27 metres
Filippo Salvetti drew the exterior, carrying the family look up to almost 27 metres. Long window lines and a low superstructure keep the profile sleek despite the volume inside. A teak-laid deck runs through the cockpit and up to a large flybridge shaded by a hardtop. The GRP hull and superstructure hold weight down for the MAN V12s below.
The deck plan gives generous social areas fore and aft. The main cockpit seats a crowd for dinner and steps to a swim platform at the transom. Forward, the main deck living space opens the bow to guests, a feature that sets the 860 apart from older boats in the line. The flybridge stretches out as the yacht's sun-soaked social hub.

The 860 evolves the best-selling 850 with V12 power and an Art Deco cabin mood.

An Ideaeitalia interior with Deco notes
Ideaeitalia dressed the interior, and press coverage picked up on its Art Deco references in the joinery and detailing. The main saloon runs open to a formal dining area, with full-height glazing down both sides. Materials lean on rich woods and polished metals for a warmer mood than the paler boats lower in the range. Owners could specify finishes to personalise the feel.
Accommodation follows the crewed-yacht template. The amidships master runs full beam with large hull windows and a private bathroom, while a VIP and further cabins house the rest of the party. Crew cabins and a galley sit apart so service stays discreet. The forward main-deck lounge gives the owner's family a calm space separate from guests.

MAN V12 power
The standard 860 runs twin MAN V12 diesels at 1,800 hp each, with a 2,000 hp option for owners wanting more. Ferretti quotes a top speed near 32 knots on the stronger setup. Range at a sensible cruise sits around 310 nautical miles, in keeping with a fast planing yacht of this size. The Ferretti engineering department handled naval architecture and hull tuning.
At almost 27 metres the 860 leans on its systems for comfort. Owners specify from the equipment expected of a crewed yacht at this size, including stabilisation and thruster-assisted berthing. The planing hull is set up to hold a clean attitude at cruise and stay composed in a Mediterranean chop. Sound insulation keeps the accommodation quiet under way.

The 860 owner
The 860 is aimed at an experienced owner running a small professional crew for Mediterranean and wider cruising. It carries eight guests in comfort for extended stays, which suits both private use and considered charter. Buyers stepping up from the 850 or a similar yacht find familiar space with a fresher interior. The size still sits below the running costs of a true superyacht.
In the market the 860 competes with fast flybridge yachts near 27 metres from established European builders. Its case leans on the Salvetti styling and the Ideaeitalia interior, backed by the group's global service. Replacing a proven best-seller gave it a ready audience from launch. Strong brand recognition supports its value on resale.
Двигатели и системы
| Engines | Twin MAN V12 diesels, 1,800 hp standard or 2,000 hp as an option. The stronger pair is the one most test boats and brokerage listings carry. |
|---|---|
| Gearbox | V-drive gearboxes, chosen to reduce shaft angle and free up hull volume forward for the lower-deck cabins rather than for engine access. |
| Generators | Twin 27 kW gensets in the engine room alongside the main engines. |
| Stabilisation | A single Seakeeper 18 gyro as tested, with Sleipner/Side-Power Vector fin stabilisers offered as the alternative; the two systems are not both fitted on the same boat. |
| Steering and docking | Xenta fly-by-wire electronic steering ties the helm, the automatic Humphree trim tabs and the stabiliser choice into one system, plus a joystick-driven X-AID adaptive docking mode. |
| Fuel / water | 7,000-litre fuel tank, 1,400-litre water tank. |
| Tender garage | Stern garage sized for a tender and a jet-ski together. |
Что сообщают владельцы и экипажи
Helm feels light and agile for the size
Motor Boat & Yachting's test captain called the Xenta fly-by-wire steering "much like the power steering system in a car", making the 72-tonne yacht feel agile at speed; YachtBuyer's tester agreed, scoring performance and handling 5/5 and describing the hull as "incredibly planted".
Motor Boat & Yachting and YachtBuyer test reportsSide and aft visibility from the lower helm is genuinely restricted
MBY's reviewer flagged that "the view out to the sides is very restricted and there is of course no view aft" from the main helm without stepping to a side door.
Motor Boat & YachtingHelm instrument layout is awkward to read seated
YachtBuyer's tester found the flat-mounted instruments "pretty tricky to see when seated", and noted the upper helm has little windscreen protection at speed.
YachtBuyerEngine room finish stands out
YachtBuyer's tester described the engine room as finished "as neat as they come", citing it as evidence of the build quality carried over from the 850.

Сильные стороны и что учесть
Сильные стороны
- Real point-and-squirt performance for the size32 knots top speed on the 2,000 hp engines and a planted, composed ride reported independently by two test crews.
- Flybridge and social areas genuinely grewMBY called the redesigned flybridge "absolutely huge", and the galley's new position was singled out as easier to serve the dining table from.
- Engineering depth carried over from a proven hullThe 860 keeps the 850's platform and machinery, which both test teams read as reassuring rather than stale.
На что обратить внимание
- Helm sightlines are a real compromiseNo aft view and restricted side visibility from the lower helm without opening a door, flagged independently by MBY.
- Some lower-deck space was tightened to fund the redesignMBY found the forward VIP's shower compartment "feels a bit squeezed" against the outgoing 850's layout.
- Styling reads as safe rather than distinctiveYachtBuyer judged the exterior "a little bland" despite calling it timeless - a fair trade for buyers who want the 850's proven look, less so for anyone wanting the 860 to stand out at a dock.
Практическая информация
| New price (2,000 hp) | From about USD 6.3m base, per Yachting Magazine's reporting; MBY's specific test configuration listed at GBP 4.85m ex VAT. |
|---|---|
| Used asking prices, 2023-2025 builds | USD 6.3m to 8.8m across the handful of pre-owned boats on the market in September 2026, brokers report, averaging close to USD 7m - the model is roughly three years old on average and has held value well so far. |
| Fuel burn and range | MBY's test measured 396 l/h at 18.3 knots (302 nm range) and 65 l/h at 10.2 knots (879 nm range) on the 7,000-litre tank. |
| Deliveries | Five 860s delivered by late 2025 since the 2022 debut, per brokerage tallies - a small enough fleet that resale comparables are thin. |
| What is not published | Neither test outlet nor Ferretti has published annual running or crew costs; owners at this size typically budget 10 percent of the purchase price a year, but that figure is an industry rule of thumb here, not a reported 860 number. |
