A hundred hulls, nearly all for one group
Filippo Salvetti's exterior design credits run to more than 101 superyachts above 24 metres, according to the BOATPro database, a volume that puts him among the most prolific working exterior designers anywhere in the industry. Almost every one of those hulls was built by a Ferretti Group brand, Ferretti Yachts or Custom Line, which makes his career look less like a series of individual commissions and more like a long, continuous relationship with one industrial group's design programme.
That distinction matters for how to read his portfolio. A designer with 100-plus credits spread across a dozen different yards would be evidence of broad market demand for a particular eye; 100-plus credits concentrated in one group is evidence of something else, a design language trusted to carry an entire brand's visual identity across years and multiple model generations, which is its own kind of achievement even if it says less about demand outside that one relationship.

What exterior design means when the naval architecture is already fixed
On every Ferretti Group model credited to Salvetti in this research, the naval architecture is handled separately, by Ferretti Group's own Product Strategy and Engineering departments. His job is the profile: the sheerline, the deck-level proportions, the window shapes and the overall silhouette, worked out within a hull form the group's engineers have already fixed, rather than a naval architecture brief he is also solving.
That division is standard at this scale of production and semi-custom building, where a group the size of Ferretti benefits from keeping engineering in-house and consistent across models while bringing in named exterior talent for the visual identity. It means Salvetti's actual creative latitude sits above the waterline, and the controlled, uncluttered sheerline that critics associate with his work is a styling decision made to flatter an already-engineered semi-displacement hull, not a hull-form choice of his own.

The Ferretti Yachts 1000 is the largest yacht the brand has ever built, and Salvetti's exterior on it was designed to look inevitable rather than new.

The Custom Line partnership, and why ACPV gets equal billing
From 2019, Custom Line's Navetta range and the Custom Line 50 have paired Salvetti's exteriors with interiors by ACPV Architects, the practice of Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, a partnership both sides describe in remarkably consistent terms in their own public statements. Salvetti has called the collaboration a genuine shared evolution, built on a consistent approach between exteriors and interiors, balance, proportion, design essence and the pursuit of timeless elegance.
That equal billing is unusual in an industry where exterior and interior credits are often listed but rarely discussed as a genuine creative partnership by either party. It suggests the Navetta range's design language, calmer and more architecturally minded than some competitors' more aggressive superyacht styling, comes from an actual dialogue between the two studios rather than two separate briefs delivered independently and assembled afterward.

The Navetta 50, and Custom Line's first all-aluminium hull
The Custom Line Navetta 50, whose first hull Asante launched in June 2024 and was delivered that August, is the range's most significant recent project: the first all-aluminium Custom Line, built at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, with exterior by Salvetti, interior by ACPV, and naval architecture by Ferretti Group's own engineering department. At 49.9 metres and 499 gross tons, she sits just under the superyacht threshold that would trigger different regulatory requirements, a size decision made well before Salvetti's exterior work began.
Neither Custom Line nor any source found in this research has disclosed a build cost or sale price for Asante or her sister hull; every listing marks the model price on request. What is published is the performance envelope the switch to aluminium enabled: twin Caterpillar C32 diesels at roughly 1,450 horsepower each, a 16-knot top speed, and about 4,000 nautical miles of range at 10 knots, figures that flow from the hull-material decision rather than from Salvetti's exterior styling.

The Ferretti Yachts flagships, from the 670 to the 1000
Salvetti's exterior credits on the Ferretti Yachts brand itself run from the 670, introduced in 2018 at 20.24 metres with twin MAN V8 engines reaching up to 32 knots optionally, up to the 1000, launched in 2022 at 30.13 metres, the largest yacht the brand has built. In between sit the 860, at 26.95 metres with twin MAN V12 engines and roughly 32 knots, and the newer 940 and INFYNITO 90.
A 2022-built Ferretti Yachts 1000 hull has been listed for sale at around EUR 8.6 million, one of the few concrete prices attached to any Salvetti-designed model in this research, and it illustrates the price band his exterior work sits within at the top of the Ferretti Yachts range: a fraction of a full-custom 100-metre-plus superyacht's cost, but still a genuinely large, semi-custom flagship purchase.
A recognisable sheerline across six different hull lengths
What distinguishes a repeatable design language from a single successful boat is whether it survives being applied across genuinely different sizes, and Salvetti's Ferretti Yachts credits span from 20 to 30 metres while the Custom Line Navetta credits span a wider range still, in a different hull material, aluminium rather than GRP, from 2019 onward. A controlled, uncluttered sheerline that reads consistently at 20 metres and at 50 is a harder design problem than a single flagship silhouette.
That consistency is also a commercial asset for Ferretti Group, whose customers moving up or down between models within the same brand family benefit from a recognisable visual identity rather than a jarring change in styling language between price points. Salvetti's long tenure across both brands is, in that sense, as much an operational choice by Ferretti Group as an artistic one by the designer himself.
What the commission costs, inside a group that builds everything itself
Ferretti Group's own engineering and design resources make an external exterior-design fee difficult to isolate from a model's overall list price, and neither Salvetti, Ferretti Group, nor Custom Line publishes a separate figure for exterior design specifically, in any source found in this research. What is published are model-level list prices that bundle design, engineering and build into one number: the Ferretti Yachts 1000 around EUR 8.6 million for a 2022 hull, the Custom Line Navetta 38 around EUR 16.7 million standard.
That bundling is standard practice at this end of production and semi-custom yacht building, where a buyer is purchasing a finished model rather than commissioning a bespoke design process with its own separate fee schedule. A prospective client cannot commission Salvetti directly for a one-off exterior outside the Ferretti Group's own ranges based on anything found in this research; his design work appears to run entirely through the group's own model programme.
Who else designs for the same yards
Salvetti is not the only named exterior designer working across Ferretti Group's brands; the wider group's history includes work from Zuccon International Project and others across different sub-brands and eras, and within his own Custom Line partnership, ACPV Architects is credited as an equal creative partner on interiors rather than a subordinate. A buyer comparing Ferretti Group models is, in effect, comparing which named design partnership a given model line was assigned to, rather than choosing a single house style for the whole group.
That internal variety is worth knowing before assuming every Ferretti Group yacht shares one design signature: the CRN and other Ferretti Group brands have carried different exterior credits entirely. Salvetti's specific claim on the current Ferretti Yachts and Custom Line Navetta lines is real and well documented, but it is a claim on two specific model families within a larger group, not the whole group's design identity.
What a Salvetti exterior is worth if the hull is later resold
No source in this research disclosed a resale premium specific to Salvetti's exterior design credit, as distinct from the yacht's overall condition, brand and specification, and that is a genuinely hard thing to isolate for any exterior designer whose work is inseparable from the model it was designed for. What can be said is that his design language is consistent and well documented enough, across more than 100 credited hulls, that a broker or future buyer can verify the credit is genuine rather than an inflated marketing claim.
For a buyer specifically weighing the Salvetti name against a rival exterior designer at resale, the more useful comparison is model-to-model rather than designer-to-designer: a Ferretti Yachts or Custom Line model's resale value tracks the brand's own market position and the individual hull's specification and history far more directly than any single exterior designer's name, based on everything found in this research.

Сильные стороны и что учесть
Сильные стороны
- An exceptionally high volume of delivered, sold hullsmore than 101 credited above 24 metres is a rare, independently measurable credential in this field, built from real deliveries rather than concepts
- A design language proven across materials and sizesGRP Ferretti Yachts from 20 to 30 metres and aluminium Custom Line Navetta hulls, evidence of range rather than one trick repeated at different scales
- A stable, long-running partnership with ACPV Architectsboth sides describe the collaboration consistently in their own words, suggesting a genuine creative dialogue rather than a marketing pairing
- Still designing the group's newest flagships as of 2025the INFYNITO 90 and Ferretti Yachts 720 are current work, not a legacy name coasting on older credits
На что обратить внимание
- Essentially a single-client careeralmost every credit in this research traces back to Ferretti Group brands, with little independent evidence of how the design language would translate to a different yard
- No published fee scale, day rate or design-cost breakdownfound anywhere in this research; the exterior design cost is bundled into each model's list price
- No standalone public portfolio or studio sitea prospective client outside the Ferretti Group network has no independent way to commission or contact the practice through its own channels
- Naval architecture sits entirely with Ferretti Group's in-house teamso a buyer is choosing the exterior look, not an independent hull-form specialist alongside it
Для кого: Buyers choosing a Ferretti Group flagship, either Ferretti Yachts or Custom Line, who want a coherent, repeatable design language across a whole model range rather than a one-off styling exercise.
