The summit of the Azimut badge
The Grande 44M is the largest yacht that Azimut builds under its own name, sitting below the Benetti marque that stands above it in the group. At 43.6 metres it carries the Grande series into genuine superyacht scale, and Azimut quotes the length in metres to make that ambition plain. The hull is classed by RINA for pleasure use and displaces around 305 tonnes when fully loaded. Inside the family it works as the halo model, the yacht that shows how far a series programme can be pushed before it turns into one-off custom work.
Everything Azimut has learned about large composite yachts feeds into this platform. The 44M shares its design grammar and its construction methods with smaller Grande hulls, then scales them up to house ten guests across five or six cabins. For a buyer the draw is a real superyacht that still has a production programme and its warranties standing behind it. That mix of size and series pedigree is why the model drew such attention when it made its public debut at Palm Beach.

Alberto Mancini's long glass lines
The exterior is the work of Alberto Mancini, the designer responsible for most of the current Azimut range, and his hand shows in the long horizontal glazing that wraps the superstructure. The profile is low and stretched for a yacht of this height, an effect helped by full-height windows that pull daylight deep into the interior. Wide side decks and a broad 8.67 metre beam give the main deck real presence at the dock. Mancini works the volume so that a tall three-deck yacht still reads as sleek from the quay.
Much of that slim look is possible because of what lies under the paint. The superstructure is built in carbon fibre over a glass-reinforced hull, which lets the yard carry large glazed areas high up without the weight penalty that would normally bring. The result is a yacht that offers superyacht interior volume while keeping its centre of gravity in check. Broad exterior social areas run from a beach club aft to a generous flybridge, giving guests several distinct zones to spread across.

The largest yacht to wear the Azimut badge, and the measure of how far a series can stretch.

An M2ATELIER interior over six cabins
The interior comes from the Milan studio M2ATELIER, which gives the 44M a calmer and more architectural feel than a purely nautical fit-out. The layout runs to five or six guest cabins with berths for ten, arranged so the owner can take a full-beam main-deck suite forward. Below the main deck the guest cabins sit on the lower level, while crew quarters aft keep service circulation clear of guests. Head compartments are counted in the region of eight or nine, a sign of how much private space the platform carries.
Volume is the real luxury here, with the wide beam translating into lounges that feel like rooms in a house. Full-height windows in the main saloon bring the horizon inside and reduce the sense of being enclosed. The yard offers scope to tailor materials and finishes so that no two hulls need feel identical. With 40,000 litres of fuel and 8,000 litres of water aboard, the interior is designed for long stays away from the dock.

Easy cruising on measured power
The Grande 44M is not built for speed, and its numbers reflect a yacht meant to cover ground in comfort. Standard power is a pair of MAN diesels rated at 1,550 hp each, with an 1,800 hp option for owners who want more in reserve. Top speed sits at around 17 knots with a cruise near 15 knots, figures typical of a displacement-leaning superyacht of this weight. The hull was drawn by P. Ausonio Naval Architecture together with the group's own research department.
The engineering story is really about weight and stability. Carbon in the superstructure keeps mass low where it matters, which helps the yacht sit calmly at anchor and hold its line underway. Large fuel tankage gives the range for extended cruising between marinas. For the owner this means a yacht built around steadiness and quiet, the qualities that long passages on a big boat reward.

Who steps up to the 44M
The Grande 44M suits an owner moving up from a large flybridge yacht into full superyacht ownership for the first time. It answers the wish for real crew accommodation and a beach club without the commitment of a bespoke build. Because it is a series model, delivery timing and pricing are more predictable than a custom project of similar length. Early hulls have been aimed at the American and Mediterranean markets where Azimut already has a strong dealer network.
In competitive terms the 44M lines up against semi-custom yachts of similar size from other European yards. Its pitch rests on Italian styling and the group's carbon construction, supported by the depth of the Azimut-Benetti after-sales network. For a buyer who values that support structure the model offers a way into the 40 metre class with a known name behind it. It is a yacht for owners who want presence and space more than they want to chase a headline top speed.

No independent owner or sea-trial report exists yet
The Grande 44M premiered at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 and no delivery to an end owner had been reported as of September 2026, so there is no owner, charter guest or independent tester account of the finished yacht. Every performance and efficiency figure on this page traces back to Azimut's own press material and is labelled as such.

نقاط القوة وما يستدعي الانتباه
نقاط القوة
- Carbon-fibre build frees a full deck for the ownerAzimut says the lighter carbon superstructure let it move the wheelhouse up a level, handing the whole deck below it over to private owner living and outdoor space instead of sharing it with the bridge.
- Strong pre-launch order bookAzimut had sold seven hulls before the yacht's public premiere at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, an unusually strong result for a brand-new flagship size class for the yard.
- Hull Vane and hybrid system aimed squarely at running costsA standard-fit Hull Vane trim foil and an optional Mild Hybrid system are pitched at cutting fuel burn and emissions against a conventional planing motoryacht of the same size, on Azimut's own figures.
ما يستدعي الانتباه
- No independent verification of any performance claim yetAs of September 2026 the Grande 44M has had no published sea trial or independent test; every speed, range and efficiency figure so far is Azimut's own.
- No public priceAzimut has not published a list price; buyers are quoted individually through dealers, which makes it impossible to compare the Grande 44M against rivals like the Sunseeker 130 or Princess X95 on cost alone.
- Standard engines look like a cruising-first choiceThe standard 1,550 hp MAN pairing is offered with an optional upgrade to 1,800 hp, which suggests the base powertrain is tuned for economy rather than pace on a 43.6-metre, four-deck hull.
