Benetti's 11th Motopanfilo 37 enters charter, price still unpublished

A 1960s navetta, built new
Sundance is the eleventh hull in Benetti's Motopanfilo 37 line, delivered from the yard's Viareggio facility and reported by SuperYacht Times on 4 August 2026. The series began with Koju in 2021, the first Benetti model built specifically to revive the clean, low-slung profile of the yard's 1960s and 1970s navette rather than chase the villa-on-water look that dominates the rest of the 30 to 40 metre bracket. The exterior is by Francesco Struglia working with Benetti's own design team, and the interior is by Lazzarini Pickering Architetti, the same pairing that has drawn every hull in the series since Koju.
The hull and superstructure are GRP, not steel or aluminium, which keeps a 36.8 to 36.9 metre yacht under 300 gross tons and inside a lighter set of crewing and survey rules than a comparable steel-built 37 metre. Beam is 7.8 metres, draft is a shallow 1.96 metres, and the boat is built across four decks. Reviewers have singled out the copper inlays tracing the deck edges, a bronze handrail, and forward hull windows that reach almost to the bow, all cues that Benetti says were pulled directly from its own 1960s archive rather than restyled from scratch.

The numbers, and the one Benetti will not give you
Sundance runs two MAN V12 engines, offered across the series at 1,400hp or 1,650hp, for a top speed of 18 knots, a fast cruise of 16 knots and an economical cruise of 12 knots. Fuel capacity is 35,000 litres and fresh water is roughly 4,000 litres, giving a quoted range of 3,800 nautical miles at the economical setting, enough to cross the Atlantic without a fuel stop. She sleeps up to 10 guests in five cabins, an owner's suite forward on the main deck and four guest cabins below, with a crew of seven across four crew cabins.
What Benetti will not say is what Sundance, or any Motopanfilo 37, costs new. The yard lists the price as on request on every hull it has sold since Koju, which pushes buyers onto the resale market to work out what they would actually pay: a 2022-built sistership is currently listed at EUR 17,500,000 through Yachts Invest, and Romeo United Yachts has quoted EUR 15,900,000 and up for other 2022 hulls. That is the single most useful number on this page for anyone pricing a new order, because it is the only public benchmark Benetti's own silence leaves behind.

What the reviewers actually found
YachtBuyer's full review of the Motopanfilo 37 gave it a five out of five, the kind of score the site reserves for a design it expects to hold up rather than date, calling it a boat that will go on to become a future classic. Yacht Style's review focused on the interior, describing the ribbed, curved ceiling beams in the main saloon as recalling the inside of a whale's skeleton, and praised the restraint of the Loro Piana fabrics and light timber against a hull shape borrowed from a sailing yacht rather than a modern motoryacht.
The same reviews are equally clear about where the Motopanfilo 37 gives ground. YachtBuyer flagged no guest seating on the bridge deck, an unusual omission at 37 metres, partly offset by a captain's cabin and office set aft of the bridge instead. On pure performance the boat trails newer rivals: the Maiora 36 Exuma cruises at 20 knots against the Motopanfilo's 16, and on layout the Sirena 118 and Horizon FD130 Tri-Deck both sleep 12 guests across six cabins against the Motopanfilo's five. Benetti's own B.Yond 37M sibling, built on a similar platform but styled as an explorer, is the closer in-house alternative for a buyer who wants the range without the retro brief tied to it.

Ten sisterships and a still-growing order book
Sundance follows a fairly steady build cadence rather than a rush: Koju in 2021, then Alluria, EH2, Hayat and WTR across 2022, Legend and Tamali in 2024, and Angel and Dawo in 2025, before Sundance this year. Boat International has separately reported a twelfth hull already sold and in build, which means Benetti has kept selling roughly two Motopanfilo 37s a year for five straight years without a facelift or a second version of the model.
For an owner weighing a new order against buying one of the ten hulls already on the water, that steadiness cuts both ways. It means the resale pool is deep enough to set a real price, as the EUR 15.9m to EUR 17.5m listings show, and that five-year-old hulls have not been undercut by a redesign the way some yards' 37 to 40 metre ranges are refreshed every three years. It also means a buyer ordering new today is getting a five-year-old platform, not a new one, and should ask the yard directly whether any structural or engine update is due before the next hull is cut.

From delivery dock to the charter dock
Sundance is reported to be entering the charter market in September 2026, which would make her one of the newer Motopanfilo 37s available to guests rather than reserved for private use. Charter deployment for a yacht delivered from an Italian yard in high season typically means a Mediterranean placement for her first months, most likely Italy or the French Riviera, before any move south for winter. Putting a newly delivered yacht straight into charter is a common way for an owner to offset running costs in the boat's first year, when depreciation is steepest and the crew is still being worked in.
No independent charter report exists yet for Sundance herself. Every figure in this article specific to this hull, her delivery date and her September charter entry, comes from Benetti's own delivery notice as relayed by SuperYacht Times and Boat International, not from a guest or broker who has sailed on her. A prospective charterer asking a broker for a report from someone who has actually been aboard Sundance should expect the honest answer, for now, to be that nobody has.
