Mangusta Oceano 60

The Oceano 60 is the flagship of Mangusta's displacement range, a 60 metre steel yacht built for owners whose ambition is a long cruising life far from home. At around 950 GT she brings full superyacht volume, a large crew and a 4,500 mile range. First launched in 2026 after years in development, she is the largest and most complete expression of the Oceano idea.

The flagship of the Oceano line

The Oceano 60 tops the displacement range at a full 60 metres, well above the 52 below it. Mangusta first showed the design to the press in 2019 and built the first hull in 2026 after a long development. Alberto Mancini shaped the exterior with the Overmarine office handling the interior. This is the yard's largest displacement yacht and its most ambitious cruising platform.

Where the smaller Oceanos stay under 500 GT on purpose, the 60 lets go of that limit and embraces true superyacht scale at around 950 tonnes. That extra volume brings a large crew, generous guest spaces and the range for serious ocean work. She is built for owners who intend to cruise widely and live aboard for long stretches. The 60 is the Oceano idea taken to its fullest.

Superyacht scale in steel

The 60 is built in steel with an aluminium superstructure, the proper recipe for a boat meant to cross oceans in comfort. At 60 metres with a beam of 10.5 metres she has the volume for expansive decks and grand interior spaces. A modest 2.85 metre draught keeps a surprising number of anchorages within reach for a boat this size. The calm, timeless Oceano profile scales up gracefully to flagship length.

Deck spaces are generous throughout, built for both entertaining and quiet time at anchor. Wide glazing floods the interior with light and keeps guests connected to the water. There is room for substantial tenders, toys and the systems a long range boat of this size needs. A large beach club and swim area aft open the yacht to the water when she is stopped. The extra length also allows a proper sun deck up top with shaded and open zones for guests to choose between. The whole design is drawn for a yacht that will be lived aboard hard over many years.

Guests up high, a big crew below

Inside, the 60 carries up to 12 guests in five cabins, with a very large crew of 14 in eight cabins to run the boat properly. That crew count is a step change from the smaller Oceanos and reflects the scale of the yacht. A full beam owner's suite and generous VIP and guest cabins spread across the decks. The extra volume gives the interior a genuine sense of grandeur.

The interior is a semi custom commission through the Overmarine design office. Owners set the layout, materials and mood to match a life spent widely aboard. The sheer volume of a 950 GT yacht gives the designers freedom the smaller boats cannot match. Comfort at anchor and ability on passage are both worked to flagship standard.

Ocean range on big MTUs

The 60 is powered by twin MTU 12V 4000 M65R engines of 2,000 hp each, driving conventional shaft lines. Top speed sits around 17 knots with a relaxed cruise near 12 knots. At that pace the range reaches about 4,500 nautical miles, ample for ocean crossings. Displacement runs to around 800 tonnes at full load, the mass of a true long range ship.

This is a boat built to go anywhere and stay comfortable over long passages. The heavy displacement hull and steady cruising speed give a serene ride in open water. A large crew and generous engineering spaces support extended time far from a shipyard. The modest draught for the size keeps a good range of anchorages open even at 60 metres. Simple, robust shaft drive is the right choice for a boat meant to work far from support. For owners with real distance in mind, the 60 has the legs and the substance for it.

The owner it suits

The 60 is for the owner ready to step up to full superyacht scale for a long cruising life. Its 950 tonnes bring the volume, crew and systems that extended world cruising demands. Families and larger guest groups have room to spread out across generous decks and interiors. The 4,500 mile range opens up remote grounds far beyond a coastal season.

It also suits an owner moving up from a smaller Oceano who now wants the space and crew of a flagship. The character and comfort of the range carry across, scaled up to 60 metres. Running the boat needs a proper professional crew, in keeping with its size. For a buyer whose plans stretch across oceans and years, the Oceano 60 is the yard's most complete answer.

Who it is for: The owner ready for full superyacht scale and a large crew for a long cruising life across oceans.
