Built for people who actually cruise

Sirena introduced the 68 with an unusually specific pitch, a yacht for owners with real sea miles behind them, and premiered it at Cannes in September 2021. It took over the slot the original 64 had opened for the brand in 2017 and refined the same idea, maximum volume and range on a hull an owner can handle with minimal help, drawn by the same naval architect.

The pitch shows in the priorities. Sightlines from the helm, weather protection, tankage and stowage all rank ahead of theatre, and the crew cabin is optional because plenty of 68 owners intend to run the boat themselves. It is the kind of specification sheet that reads quietly in a show hall and makes complete sense three days into a passage, which is exactly the audience Sirena named.

Frers efficiency, with proof

The semi-displacement hull comes from Frers Naval Architecture and Engineering, and the yard publishes the numbers that matter. With the standard twin 900 hp Volvo D13s the 68 tops out at 26 knots, and the optional 1,000 hp versions lift that to 27.7. Fast cruise sits at 16 knots, where the boat burns 130 litres an hour, useful pace for outrunning weather or shortening a delivery leg.

Accommodation is three en suite cabins with six guest berths, plus the optional crew cabin with its own head. On a 21 metre platform with a 5.9 metre beam that is a deliberately unhurried use of space, and it shows in cabin volume, bed sizes and stowage rather than in a headline berth count. The full-height engine room access is the sort of detail this audience checks first.

Cor D. Rover handles the interior, offered in three named decor schemes, Serenity, Inspiration and Elegance, so owners can move the mood from pale Scandinavian calm to something warmer without commissioning custom work. The wide flybridge is designed as the social focal point of the boat, and the aft deck and galley connect so the same crew of two, or none, can serve every zone.

Carbon topsides, Category A paperwork

Like its bigger sisters the 68 is laminated as a GRP and carbon hybrid, with the light superstructure lowering the centre of gravity and calming the roll at anchor and underway. Certification is CE Category A, so the design is signed off for ocean conditions at full load, and the loaded displacement of 47 tonnes speaks to structure and tankage sized for use, and for weather.

The yard's low-noise engineering carries through here too, and it matters more on this boat than on the crewed models above it, because the person on watch at 4 am is usually the owner.
