From a proven platform to a new name

The W135 did not start from a blank sheet. Its bones are the W125, the 38-meter raised pilothouse Westport delivered from the mid-2010s through 2023, a series strong enough to earn a World Superyacht Awards nomination in 2019. When the yard built the ninth hull of that platform it stretched the design to 40.99 meters, reworked the layout and added a selective catalytic reduction exhaust system, and the boat had plainly outgrown its old name. Westport redefined it as the W135, announcing the enhanced hull's sale in late 2023.

The definitive series followed. Westport launched the first W135 in January 2026 at its Washington yard and presented it at Palm Beach in March 2026. Two further hulls were sold before that debut, with deliveries planned for later 2026 and early 2027. Company president Daryl Wakefield describes the model as the product of careful listening to clients and the market, and the early order book supports the claim.

A skylounge instead of a third deck

The W135 reads very differently from the W130 tri-deck that preceded it in this size bracket. The raised pilothouse profile keeps the silhouette low at 10.3 meters and puts a glassed-in skylounge behind the wheelhouse, a genuine second living room with panoramic views. Guest life centers on the main deck: a full-width master suite forward with separate his and her bath entries, a large saloon with formal dining, and a bright country-style galley.

Four guest staterooms fill the lower deck, two with king beds, one with a queen, and an exercise room forward to starboard that converts with upper and lower Pullman berths, so the yacht sleeps ten guests in five ensuite staterooms. Crew is six including the captain, housed in a private captain's cabin, three crew staterooms forward and an engineer's cabin aft by the machinery. That is a serious service ratio for a 41-meter yacht, and it shows at dinner.

Westport rebuilt its 40-meter class around a skylounge, kept the 25-knot pace, and sold the first three hulls before the public ever saw one.

Twenty-five knots from a proven MTU pair

Power is a pair of MTU 16V2000 M97L diesels of 2,600 horsepower each, turning custom five-blade propellers through ZF 5050A gears. Westport quotes a 20-knot cruise and 25 knots flat out, which makes the W135 one of the quickest boats of its volume, and 26,498 liters of fuel support long legs at displacement speed. Westport publishes no range figure yet, though trade data rated the W125 platform it grew from at 2,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The yacht measures 333 gross tons ITC, is classed by ABS and MCA compliant, and is built the Westport way: foam-cored composite hull and superstructure engineered with aviation-grade three-dimensional modeling, laminated in precision tooling the yard amortizes across the whole series. The SCR exhaust system brings emissions in line with current standards, a detail that matters for future port access and future buyers alike.

Still at anchor, connected everywhere

Comfort at rest gets the full treatment. Two Seakeeper 35 gyro stabilizers sit on the centerline of the lazarette to hold the yacht steady in a rolling anchorage, while Naiad 525 fins with hydraulic noise and vibration suppressors handle stabilization underway. Twin 80 kW Northern Lights generators carry the hotel load, watermakers produce 3,600 gallons a day from seawater, and 30 tons of air conditioning keep the interior controlled in real summer heat.

The technology package is current and deep: Starlink high-speed internet with Iridium backup, AV over IP entertainment throughout, whole-vessel lighting control from iPads, nine CCTV cameras and Westport's own VIC2 vessel monitoring system watched from the crew mess. Fire protection goes beyond the norm for the size, with a clean agent system in the engine room and HI-FOG misting through the accommodation and public areas.

Decks, toys and the ownership case

The sundeck carries a hot tub and bar, the aft deck is scaled for al fresco dining, and the transom opens into a beach club at the waterline. A 3,300-pound boat deck crane handles the 15-foot RIB tender with its 70 hp outboard, and a separate 1,100-pound foredeck davit serves the toys, so launch and recovery never disrupt the guest areas.

The ownership case is the familiar Westport argument applied to a brand-new design: a fixed USD price, a known delivery date, ABS class and a factory brokerage that has traded the yard's 40-meter boats for two decades. The W130 series behind it put more than forty hulls on the water and the W125 added a further eight, so the platform arrives with a resale history most new models spend a decade earning. Buying an early hull of a Westport series has historically been a well-rewarded position.
