Turkish long-range motor yachts on Frers hulls, from 48 feet to superyacht steel
8 modelosSirena Yachts is the motor yacht brand of Sirena Marine, the shipbuilding arm of Turkey's Kiraca Holding, established in 2006 on the southern shore of the Sea of Marmara. The company spent its first decade building for others. A partnership with the Azimut Benetti Group, formalised in 2008, saw more than 250 motor yachts built in Turkey for the Italian group, alongside around 100 sailing yachts under Sirena's own Azuree and Euphoria brands, the latter drawn by German Frers. It was an apprenticeship in volume production to Italian quality standards, served at industrial scale.
When the joint venture wound down in 2015, the yard held world-class capability and no consumer name. The answer arrived in 2016 as Sirena Yachts, and in January 2017 the first boat, the 20.74 metre Sirena 64, made its world debut at Boot Dusseldorf with naval architecture by Frers and an interior by Tommaso Spadolini. The reviews noted the volume, the finish and the price, and the order book moved. Within a few years the brand had cruised past its hundredth boat.
Production happens at a 155,000 square metre facility in Orhangazi, Bursa, employing more than 550 people, around 80 of them engineers. That ratio is the tell. Sirena approaches yacht building as an engineering discipline first, with hybrid carbon fibre lamination in its superstructures to pull weight out of the top of the boat and lower the centre of gravity, and a stated obsession with low noise levels across the fleet.
Growth has since pushed the company beyond Orhangazi. Sirena has added waterside construction halls in the shipbuilding district of Yalova, where its superyacht projects now take shape, including the first steel and aluminium hull the company has built under its own flag. For a brand barely a decade old, the industrial footprint already reads like that of a builder planning in decades.
Every composite Sirena rides on naval architecture by German Frers, one of the most decorated names in yacht design. The hulls are semi-displacement forms with a distinctive double personality. At ten knots they sip fuel and deliver genuine long-range cruising, and when asked they will still run in the mid twenty knot band. That combination of trawler economy and planing pace, wrapped in unusually high interior volume, is the core of what an owner buys here.
Around the Frers platform sits a deliberate roster of European design talent. Cor D. Rover styles the interiors of the larger models, Tommaso Spadolini shaped the early boats, and the new steel line brings in Luca Vallebona for exteriors, Hot Lab of Milan for interiors and Van Oossanen for naval architecture. The through-line is consistent across all of them. Range, volume and quiet come before styling theatre.
The range today runs from the 16 metre Sirena 48 and 48 Coupe through the 60, 68 and 78 to the 88, long the flagship, and now extends to the 36 metre Sirena 118 in composite and the 42 metre steel and aluminium Sirena Superyachts 42M. 2026 is the milestone year, with the 118 launched in July ahead of its Cannes premiere and the first 42M scheduled to follow from Yalova the same summer.
For an owner, the practical appeal is value with pedigree. Sirena delivers Frers naval architecture, European design names and ocean-class build at pricing that has repeatedly drawn direct press comparison with the established semi-custom yards of Italy and northern Europe. Resale visibility is growing through the major brokerages, the brand shows on both sides of the Atlantic, and the model policy has been consistent, with each new boat extending the same long-range idea to a new size.
