ADM 70

The ADM 70 made headlines before a single hull existed, when three identical 70 metre units were sold at once to a single European family in May 2023, one of the largest simultaneous orders in superyacht history. With seven guest staterooms, quarters for a large crew and deliveries planned across consecutive years from 2026, the trio turned Admiral's new custom line into a fleet.

Three hulls, one signature

In May 2023 The Italian Sea Group and the brokerage IYC announced the sale of three new 70 metre Admiral GC-Force megayachts to one family, with deliveries planned in consecutive years beginning in 2026. The trade press called it a record transaction, and it was certainly among the largest single commitments ever made to an Italian yard. Whatever the commercial terms, the message to the market was unambiguous. A sophisticated repeat buyer had examined the platform and ordered it three times.

The deal also said something about the yard's capacity. Building three 70 metre megayachts in overlapping schedules demands dock space, supply chain depth and workforce that very few builders anywhere can commit, and Marina di Carrara's 120,000 square metre site with its two long dry docks is one of the few places in the Mediterranean where the promise is physically credible. The first unit has since moved into outfitting, holding the published sequence.

The GC-Force platform at 70 metres

The ADM 70 shares its design DNA with the 73 metre flagship of the line. Naval architecture and styling both come from the group's Centro Stile, and the line is built in steel and aluminium for ocean-crossing service. The look follows the family formula, long clean lines, large open deck spaces and what the yard describes as an abundance of glass, so interior spaces stay connected to the sea from every level.

Keeping design in-house is a deliberate part of the offer. With Centro Stile responsible for everything from hull form to furniture placement, the yard controls the coherence of the product and the pace of the build, and a multi-hull order becomes an exercise in refinement instead of reinvention. Each of the three sisters can take its own interior finishing while the engineering beneath stays proven and common, which is exactly how large families and charter operations like to buy.

One family examined the platform and ordered it three times, which is due diligence no brochure can match.

Seven staterooms and real service depth

Each ADM 70 carries seven guest staterooms for fourteen guests, a cabin count that moves the boat beyond the standard six-suite formula of the size class and makes her genuinely useful for a multi-generation family cruising together. Ten crew cabins support that load, a ratio that keeps service continuous even with every stateroom occupied and tenders, toys and shore programmes running at once.

That balance between guest capacity and crew depth is where a 70 metre earns its keep over smaller tonnage. Below 500 GT the arithmetic forces compromises, fewer cabins or thinner service. Here there are none. The family that ordered three of them was buying, in effect, a private cruise capability that can host different branches of the household in different seas in the same season, with a common standard of operation across all three hulls.

Power for long passages

Propulsion for each hull comes from a pair of 2,012 hp Caterpillar engines, a conservative, service-friendly choice that reflects what these boats are for. The GC-Force line was engineered for comfortable ocean crossings at displacement speeds, with machinery chosen for reliability and worldwide support over headline velocity. For owners planning Caribbean winters and Mediterranean summers, that is the specification that matters.

The operational logic runs through the whole platform. Common engineering across three sisters means shared spares, interchangeable crew familiarity and predictable maintenance, advantages any fleet operator would recognise. It is a rare thing in yachting for a private buyer to capture economies of scale, and the ADM 70 order shows how a custom line with a stable platform makes it possible without surrendering the character of a one-off.

The buyer's read

For a prospective owner, the ADM 70 arrives pre-validated. Three units sold in a single transaction, brokered by a firm that has worked with the yard for over a decade, is stronger due diligence than any shipyard brochure, and the first hull's progress into outfitting shows the schedule holding. The platform sits at a sweet spot, large enough for true megayacht presence and capacity, contained enough to keep build time and complexity in hand.

There is also a practical opening in the story. A yard that has industrialised a 70 metre custom platform can price and schedule the next hull with unusual confidence, and a buyer who wants Admiral quality at this scale can point to three sisters in build as the clearest possible evidence of what they will get. In a market where 70 metre slots at the established northern yards stretch years out, that certainty has real value.

Motorisation et systèmes

Hull / superstructureSteel hull, aluminium superstructure, classed Lloyd's Register. Confirmed by admiral-yachts.com and the YachtCharterFleet listing for the first hull (GC Force 70/01).
EnginesTwo Caterpillar 3512C diesels, reported around 1,500 kW (about 2,012 hp) each. The horsepower figure is corroborated across Megayacht News and general trade coverage; the exact CAT sub-variant is the yard's own published spec and has no independent confirmation.
GeneratorsThree 200 kW diesel gensets per Admiral's own spec sheet. No independent source confirms this figure.
Gearboxes / stabilisers / thrusters / watermakerNot published anywhere Yotters could find, on Admiral's own site or in any press coverage. A buyer comparing yards will not find this information published for the ADM 70.
Fuel tankage120,000 litres, per Admiral's own spec sheet. Single-sourced; water tankage is not published at all.
SpeedAbout 15.5 knots top, about 14.5 knots cruise, consistent across Admiral's own site and third-party trade listings. Modest for a 70-metre yacht: the closest delivered comparator, the 2020 Benetti Alfa, does 17 knots top on larger engines. One aggregator cites a 6,000 nautical mile range, but Admiral's own spec sheet omits range entirely, so that figure is unverified.
Tonnage, beam, draft, capacityThese figures conflict between Admiral's own site and trade press and are not settled: gross tonnage is quoted anywhere from about 1,350 to 1,513 GT (Admiral's own page only says "above 1,000 GT"); beam is given as 11.3 m by Admiral and most brokers but 10.6 m by one YachtCharterFleet listing; draft ranges 3.0-3.25 m across sources with no two independent, named publications agreeing exactly; guest capacity is 12 guests/6 cabins on Admiral's own ADM 70 page but 14 guests/7 suites per BOAT International and Megayacht News reporting on the as-built GC-Force 70 hulls; crew capacity is stated as 20/10 by Admiral, 18 plus 2 support staff by BOAT International, and 16 by one aggregator. Rather than pick one figure, Yotters reports the range and names the disagreement, because no hull has yet been delivered and independently surveyed to settle it.

Ce que rapportent propriétaires et équipages

Les points forts et les points de vigilance

Points forts

  • An established, high-volume yard, not a startupBuilt by The Italian Sea Group at Marina di Carrara, reportedly hull number 615 in Admiral's own sequence per YachtBuyer and SuperYachtTimes coverage - real production pedigree behind the model.
  • Conventional, well-proven engineeringSteel hull, aluminium superstructure and Lloyd's Register classification is a conservative, well-understood construction approach rather than an unproven experimental build.
  • Globally serviceable propulsionTwin Caterpillar 3512C diesels are among the most widely used, globally supported marine engines in the superyacht segment, a real practical strength for long-term owner support even if not a glamorous spec line.
  • Sold before completionThree hulls were sold as a single program in 2023, before any of them was finished, per Megayacht News, SuperYachtTimes and BOAT International - a genuine market-confidence signal rather than marketing language.
  • Generous accommodation for the footprintA full-beam owner's suite is reported on at least one hull by BOAT International, and an Extra Deck variant exists for owners who want more volume or privacy.

Points de vigilance

  • Modest top speed for a 70-metre yacht15.5 knots trails the 2020-delivered Benetti Alfa's 17 knots on larger engines - a real trade-off of accommodation and economy over outright speed, not a flaw exactly, but worth stating plainly.
  • Very little published system detailNo stabiliser, thruster, watermaker, gearbox or water-tankage specification is published anywhere Yotters could find, leaving a buyer far less to compare against rival yards that publish fuller spec sheets.
  • Basic facts disagree across the yard's own material and trade pressGuest capacity, crew capacity, beam, draft and gross tonnage each carry two or three different published figures - a genuine weakness in the public record for this specific model, not just a quirk of one bad listing.
  • Zero independent verification exists yetNo hull has been delivered, so there is no sea trial, no classification-society technical file and no independent survey - every performance claim currently traces back to the yard's own marketing or press coverage derived from it.

Informations pratiques

PriceNo public price found anywhere - not on Admiral's own site, not with any broker, and not in press coverage of the three-hull GC-Force 70 sale. Standard for a semi-custom yacht at this size; treat "no public price" as the honest answer, not a gap in research.
How to buy oneThis is a build-slot order, not stock inventory. The documented sales channel for the three-hull GC-Force 70 program was IYC (International Yacht Collection), brokered by Managing Partner Michel Chryssicopoulos; Admiral/The Italian Sea Group's own commercial office is the direct-to-builder route.
Running costsNot published anywhere and not findable, because no hull has yet been delivered or operated - there is no charter rate and no owner-reported annual running cost for this model yet.
Comparable modelsBenetti Alfa (70 m, delivered 2020, same beam and draft, larger CAT engines, 17 kn top, 5,000 nm range at 12 kn) is the closest true comparator. Tankoa's S702 "Next 70" is a same-size Italian rival. Within Admiral's own range, the ADM 70 Extra Deck is a stated variant with more volume, and the separate Admiral Explorer 70M is a different, expedition-focused 70-metre model - worth naming so readers do not confuse the two.
What is not publishedPrice, gearbox make and model, stabiliser make and model, thruster specification, watermaker capacity, water tankage, engine-room layout and access, confirmed range, and a single settled figure for gross tonnage, beam, draft, guest capacity or crew capacity - see the systems block for the specific conflicts.

Pour qui: The large family or fleet-minded owner who wants megayacht capacity on a proven platform, with the option of sisterships and the operating economies that come with them.
