Bilgin 170

Tamasha, the first Bilgin 170, went from launch in October 2025 to delivery in the first week of May 2026 and headed straight into an Aegean season. The 51.85 metre, 499 GT series develops the successful 163 platform, adds an extended bridge deck and swim platform, and wears the first light brown hull the yard has ever finished. The second hull is already in the water.

The 163, stretched where it counts

The 170 is the 163 platform developed forward, the same 9.25 metre beam and sub-500 GT discipline with length drawn out to 51.85 metres. Stretching an existing platform is the lowest risk way to grow a yacht, because the hydrodynamics, structure and systems are already proven at nearly the same scale. The bridge deck grew by a metre and a half, the swim platform was extended at the transom, and the bow gained a relaxation area that opens up once the rescue tender is deployed.

Trade press put the gain at roughly 20 percent more usable interior volume than comparable yachts in the 48 metre bracket. The regulatory envelope stays below 500 GT, so the owner banks the extra yacht without the step change in crewing and compliance that arrives above the line.

A first for the yard in the paint shed

Tamasha launched in a custom light brown, the first hull Bilgin has finished in the shade, beneath the sculpted bow the designers drew to give the series a more athletic face. In an anchorage of white and navy she reads instantly as something specific, which is what a custom colour is for.

The exterior and naval architecture are by Unique Yacht Design with interiors by Hot Lab, the pairing carried over from the 163. Continuity of design team matters at this level. The studios refine the platform hull by hull, the 170 inherits every lesson the 163 sisters taught, and one exterior studio and one interior studio have signed every hull in the family.

Launched in October, delivered in May, cruising the Aegean by summer.

Built for distance

The published range is 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots on a displacement steel hull with aluminium superstructure, genuine passage making capability that covers transatlantic legs with margin. Under 500 GT, that reach comes with a lean crew and a lighter compliance load.

Tamasha was delivered in early May 2026 and spent her first season in the Aegean, a shakedown in the yard's home waters. The sundeck carries a jacuzzi for eight with a bar and open air dining, and the extended swim platform pulls the guest program right down to the waterline.

Hull two and a platform with momentum

The second 170, build number NB83, was launched in December 2025 at Antalya, confirming that the series moved straight into production cadence. BOAT International reported her with a generous owner's suite on the extended bridge deck and a Hot Lab interior of soft palettes and layered textures described as warm and sophisticated. Counting the 163, 170 and 173 together, trade press connects seven yachts to the yard's 52 metre platform family.

For a prospective owner that momentum has practical value. A busy production line holds its supplier chain, its build crews and its schedule discipline, and a delivered first hull means sea trial data and a reference owner instead of renderings when you negotiate.

The case for the 170

Against the 163 the 170 buys more deck, notably the enlarged bridge deck and the bow lounge. Against the 173 it is the version an owner can inspect finished and afloat today, and Tamasha's October to May run from launch to delivery shows the yard's outfitting pace is real. That inspection matters more than brochures admit, because paint, joinery tolerances and noise underway can only be judged on a finished boat.

As with all of Bilgin's 50 metre family, the value case rests on volume per gross tonne, a stable design team and a yard now proven from 47 to 80 metres. The 170 is the mid point of the platform, and with Tamasha cruising it is the one with a delivered reference already at sea.

Pour qui: An owner who wants the yard's freshest 50 metre thinking with a delivered reference hull to inspect before committing.
