The newest door into the brand
Gulf Craft relaunched its entry point at the 2024 Dubai show, restyling the smallest Majesty around the design language of the awarded boats above her. The judges at the World Yachts Trophies handed the 60 the best evolution product award the same year, which for an entry model is the kind of external validation marketing budgets cannot buy.
The 60's brief is straightforward, deliver the family look, the build quality and the dealer network at the size where owners drive themselves and decisions are made quickly. She is the boat the yard expects to convert sport cruiser owners and first buyers, and the specification is arranged around removing their reasons to hesitate. Nothing on the options list exists to correct a shortfall in the base boat, which is the first thing a careful buyer checks.
Three cabins, flexible by design
The standard plan sleeps six in three cabins, a master and a double both en suite plus a third cabin served by the day head, with a crew cabin aft for owners who want a hand aboard. A two cabin option trades the third stateroom for stowage or an office, an honest nod to how couples actually use boats this size.
The main deck follows the range's open plan formula, an expansive aft cockpit for alfresco dining, optional side boarding gates for Mediterranean-style quays, a well equipped galley and a salon whose glazing carries the daylight deep inboard. En suite bathrooms and customisable layouts keep the boat feeling bigger than her class. It is a plan that flexes with a family's decade, which is roughly how long owners keep the boats they get right.
The 2024 restyle of the range's first rung, awarded best evolution product, drawing just 0.9 metres.
Shallow, light and unbothered
Two numbers set the 60 apart from her competitive set. Displacement is roughly 29 tonnes, light for the volume, and draft is 0.9 metres, a figure closer to a sportsboat than a flybridge yacht. Together they open the beach anchorages, creeks and shallow berths that heavier rivals read about on the chart and leave alone. Both figures come straight from the composite discipline the yard applies at every size.
Fuel capacity of 3,500 litres supports proper coastal legs between top-ups, and the builder lists MTU power options of up to 966 horsepower a side for owners who want the performance end of the envelope. A 20 kW generator carries the anchored life, air conditioning included, which in home waters is non-negotiable.
Sized for the owner at the helm
Everything about the 60 assumes the owner is driving. The helm station is laid out for single-handed watchkeeping with the marina approach in mind, sightlines run clean to both quarters, and the deck plan lets one person handle lines while the other manages the wheel. Docking is the moment that sells or sinks this class of boat, and the 60 is arranged so that moment stays boring. Crew remains an option, never a requirement.
That self-sufficiency defines the ownership experience. The 60 is the boat used on a Tuesday evening because using her costs nothing but fuel, the boat lent to a capable son-in-law, the boat that makes the season ticket to the water effectively unlimited. Larger yachts do more, but they rarely get used more.
First rung, full membership
Buying the smallest boat in a range often means buying the brand's leftovers, and the 60 was rebuilt specifically to end that trade. The styling, glazing and finish standard track the awarded models above her, so nothing about the boat announces entry level from the quay, and the award citation said as much.
She also starts the ladder the yard has built its business on. Owners move from the 60 to the 62 or 65 as families grow, to the 72 when crew arrives, and onward into the Superyacht Collection, trading within one builder relationship the entire way. As the first handshake in that relationship, the 60 is priced and equipped to make the second boat feel inevitable.
Pour qui: A first-time or self-driving owner who wants the brand's current design and build quality at the size where the boat gets used every week.
