GX Superyachts

A new large-yacht brand built on Greenline's hybrid pedigree

GX Superyachts was revealed at the September 2024 Monaco Yacht Show as a new brand from the team behind Greenline Yachts, the Slovenian builder that has delivered more than 1,000 hybrid and electric yachts up to 58 feet over roughly 15 years. Founder and CEO Vladimir Zinchenko has described the move as taking that hybrid and solar know-how into the superyacht size bracket for the first time, with the 42 metre GX42 as the debut project. The keel for the first hull was laid on 1 June 2024, for a client GX Superyachts and Megayacht News described as already experienced with solar-panel-equipped cruising, months before the brand itself was formally announced.

The company has since built out a real commercial operation rather than staying a one-boat project. Andrea Armas, with 28 years of owner's-representative experience, advises the board, and in December 2025 GX Superyachts hired Maurizio Magri, a 40 year yachting industry veteran of CBI Navi, Mangusta, Admiral Yachts, Tecnomar and Wider Yachts, as Chief Commercial Officer based in a new Monaco office. Zinchenko framed the hire as needing help to move sales to the next level, citing strong early market interest in the brand.

The lineup and what makes it different

GX Superyachts' published model range spans roughly 24 to 56 metres, including a GX34 RPH and Coupe, a GX38 Voyager adventure model, the GX42 in both RPH (raised pilothouse) and Coupe versions, and a GX56 Coupe. The GX42 RPH is the first hull actually built, with a second RPH hull already under construction for 2027 delivery. The brand's pitch across the range is the same: aluminium construction, serial diesel-electric hybrid propulsion and integrated solar arrays, aimed at owners who want genuine at-anchor and low-speed electric running rather than a diesel yacht with a green paint job.

Design responsibility is split cleanly: Marco Casali of Too Design handles exterior styling and interiors across the range, while naval architecture comes from Francesco Rogantin of NAMES studio, with Specialist Marine providing technical consultancy through design, engineering and production. Construction happens not at Greenline's own Slovenia facility but at SES Yachts, a 50 year old family-owned yard in Istanbul run by naval architects, which is where the GX42's hull and superstructure were built, joined and outfitted.
