Founded 2001 by Dick Young, formerly creative director at Andrew Winch Designs (credited with the Royal Huisman sloop Surama); architect Jonathan Rhoades, previously at CZWG Architects, Thomas Eriksson Architects and five years with Ken Freivokh (designer of Maltese Falcon), joined in 2001 and became a partner in 2002

Founders: Marc Van Peteghem (born 9 January 1957, Paris) and Vincent Lauriot-Prevost, who met studying yacht and powercraft design at Southampton College of Higher Education in the late 1970s

Founder: Rob Humphreys, British naval architect with a degree in industrial design and engineering; founded Humphreys Yacht Design in Lymington, England in 1974, a year after his first design, the Quarter Tonner Midnight Special (1973)

Launched 30 May 2018 as a joint venture between UK naval architecture and marine engineering firm BMT Nigel Gee and Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco

Founded in Paris by Alberto Pinto in the early 1970s, with sources split between 1968 and 1971 for the exact year, after he redecorated his own New York apartment and moved from photography into decoration
