47MXP

Numarine announced the 47MXP in April 2025 as its new flagship, a 46.7 metre steel and aluminium explorer that stretches the proven 45XP platform and rethinks the entire aft end around a resort style beach club. The second model in the yard's Mediterranean Explorer series carries 498 GT of volume, two pools and a 6,000 nautical mile range, with interiors entrusted to Milan studio Hot Lab.

The largest Numarine yet

When Numarine revealed the 47MXP in April 2025, the announcement read as a statement of confidence from a yard on a run. Gebze had spent the previous decade building its explorer business upward from the 32 metre 32XP, and the new model pushed the ceiling to 46.7 metres, the largest yacht the company has ever offered. Chairman Omer Malaz said at the reveal that several clients were already interested, which for this builder tends to translate into contracts.

The 47MXP is the second yacht in the MXP line, which Numarine calls the Mediterranean Explorer. The idea is easy to state and hard to execute. Take the steel hulled, long range platform the yard has proven across dozens of XP deliveries, then hand the aft third of the boat over to the water level living that Mediterranean owners actually use every single day of a season.

Built on the 45XP's bones

Underneath, the 47MXP keeps the hull and 9.25 metre beam of the 45XP, extended to 46.7 metres overall. Construction is steel below the waterline with an aluminium superstructure above, classed by RINA, and the 2.35 metre draft keeps shallow Aegean and Bahamian anchorages open in a way most 150 footers cannot match. Numarine quotes a 36 month build time, brisk for a full displacement steel yacht of this size.

Volume is pegged at 498 international gross tons, deliberately under the 500 GT line where a step change in regulation begins. For an owner that number matters more than it first appears. It buys close to the maximum interior space available in the simpler compliance regime, keeps manning and class requirements manageable, and it is a threshold the whole large Numarine range is engineered to respect.

Two pools, resort style balconies and 6,000 miles of range inside a 498 GT package.

An aft end borrowed from a resort

The redesign that separates the 47MXP from the 45XP is concentrated aft. The beach club has been reworked with balconies and lounge zones that Numarine says take their cues from luxury resorts, opening the transom into a genuine sea level room rather like a private lido. A pool sits in the beach club itself, and a second pool forward on the bow deck gives guests a quieter option with the anchorage view.

Above it, Numarine leaves the upper deck open as a flexible exterior lounge running aft of the wheelhouse. Interior styling is by Hot Lab, the Milan studio the yard also engaged for its Classic line, with a brief described as warm and elegant. Detailed general arrangements were still unpublished at the announcement, which is normal practice at Gebze, where first hulls are refined with their buyers.

Sixteen knots when needed, 6,000 miles when it counts

Power comes from twin MAN D2868 LE 489 diesels of 1,450 horsepower each, the same engines specified for the 45XP. They push the full displacement hull to 16 knots flat out, with 12 knots as the practical cruise. The number that defines the boat sits at the bottom of the curve. Throttled back to 9 knots, the 47MXP covers 6,000 nautical miles on its 57,000 litres of fuel.

That range puts a transatlantic passage, the Red Sea leg toward the Indian Ocean or a whole Caribbean winter inside a single fuel load. It is the figure that carries the entire Numarine argument. The yacht is styled for Portofino afternoons, yet it is engineered for the delivery passages in between, a combination that remains rare in any series built boat of this size.

Twelve guests, ten crew, no published delivery date

Accommodation is drawn for 10 or 12 guests in five or six cabins depending on layout, headed by an owner's suite, with the flexible arrangement typical of the yard's semi custom approach. Crew quarters take up to ten in five cabins, a ratio close to one to one that supports true superyacht service, round the clock housekeeping and a dedicated engineer for the machinery spaces.

Numarine has not published a delivery date for the first 47MXP, and the 36 month clock starts with a signed contract, so the field for a launch year above is left open on purpose. An interested owner should watch the 45XP, whose first hull is in build at Gebze, because the flagship shares its platform and every month of progress on the smaller boat derisks the larger one.

A chi si rivolge: An owner who wants genuine transocean legs and a beach club worthy of a 60 metre, but intends to stay under 500 GT and inside a three year, series derisked build instead of a full custom program.
