Sanlorenzo's 62m Alchemist lists at EUR 64m, a rare resale test

The 62m Sanlorenzo Alchemist has joined the brokerage market for the first time since her 2022 delivery, asking EUR 64m. A privately used, near-new steel yacht coming up for sale gives the top of the market a fresh price marker.

First time on the market

Alchemist is the second unit of Sanlorenzo's 62Steel series and has been in private hands since delivery in 2022. She is now listed for the first time, carrying an asking price of EUR 64m and presented, brokers say, in exceptional condition.

Built with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, the 62-metre sits at the upper end of Sanlorenzo's displacement range. Four years of single ownership and light private use put her close to new-build condition without the wait.

Why the asking price is a signal

Near-new listings from a strong series are the cleanest read an owner gets on where top-end resale values actually sit. The EUR 64m ask sets a public marker for anyone holding a comparable steel displacement yacht in the 60m band.

With build slots at the major yards committed for years out, buyers who want a large yacht soon are increasingly turning to the brokerage market. A well-kept 62m avoids a delivery queue that now stretches toward the end of the decade.

Where it sits in the range

The 62Steel platform gives owners full displacement volume with the customisation Sanlorenzo built its name on. Alchemist follows the first unit into a small, closely watched pool of yachts at this size from the Italian builder.

The pace of her sale, and any gap between the ask and the closing figure, will be read as a gauge of 60m-plus demand.
