The entry point to the REV era
The 104 REV opened Mangusta's new Maxi Open range when it launched in 2021, and it remains the smallest yacht in that family. It arrived as a clear signal that the yard was renewing its core open sport product rather than leaning on older models. Within a year the design won the Best Semi Displacement or Planing Motor Yacht title in its size band at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards. Several sister hulls have followed since, which is real reassurance in a sport yacht of this size.
For Mangusta the 104 REV also marked a change of design partner. The exterior came from Igor Lobanov rather than the in house team that had drawn earlier open boats, and it reinterprets the Mangusta look for a more contemporary buyer. The result reads as a considered restart of a range that first made the yard famous in the 1980s. It gave the brand a fresh flagship idea to scale up into the larger 165 REV.
A modern take on the Maxi Open line
The 104 REV measures 31.8 metres overall with a beam of around 7.1 metres, and it is built in composite, with a single skin hull and a sandwich superstructure. The styling leans on long horizontal glazing and a low, stretched profile that keeps the visual weight down near the water. Lobanov's brief was to carry the Mangusta open sport identity into cleaner, more current proportions. The car inspired helm station sits under a low screen and gives the boat a driver focused character.
The defining feature is the way the deck opens up. A convertible aft cockpit can be reconfigured between dining, lounging and beach club use, and large openings tie the main saloon to the outside air. That indoor to outdoor continuity is central to the REV concept and sets the boat apart from more closed competitors. Guest volume is generous for the length, with accommodation for up to ten across four cabins.

Space and light below the profile
Interiors on the 104 REV were developed by the Overmarine Group design office and, as with the wider range, are treated as a semi custom exercise. Owners can set the layout, the timber and the finishes rather than accept a fixed catalogue scheme. The main deck saloon runs open to the cockpit through wide glazing, so the living space feels larger than the hull length suggests. Natural light is a constant theme, drawn in through the long side windows.
Below deck the yacht sleeps up to ten guests in four cabins, with a further two cabins for four crew. The layout keeps the owner's accommodation and the guest cabins clearly separated from the working areas of the boat. Materials follow the contemporary tone of the exterior rather than a traditional yacht look. Because each hull is specified individually, no two 104 REVs are finished in quite the same way.
Waterjet drive and real pace
Power comes from two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each rated at 2,600 hp, driving a pair of Kamewa S63-4 waterjets. That package takes the boat to a maximum of around 35 knots and a cruising speed near 25 knots at half load. Waterjets suit the shallow draught of roughly 1.5 metres and give the helmsman quick, precise handling in tight water. The yard also fits stabilisers that work both at anchor and under way.
The composite structure keeps displacement down to around 120 tonnes at full load, which is part of how a 32 metre boat reaches these speeds. Range is quoted at roughly 370 nautical miles at cruising speed, which frames the 104 REV as a fast day and coastal boat rather than a passage maker. The single skin hull and sandwich superstructure follow established Mangusta practice for the open range. This is a yacht built to cover short distances quickly and in comfort.
