A new benchmark for the range

The GranSport 50 was unveiled at the Palm Beach show in the spring of 2026, slotting in just below the 54 as the second largest boat in the line. At 49.9 metres it stays under 500 GT while offering the space of a much bigger yacht. Alberto Mancini drew the exterior with naval architecture from the Ausonio studio. First deliveries are set for later in the decade, with the debut hull already in build.

What sets the 50 apart is its raised pilot house layout, the first time the GranSport line has used one. That single decision reorganises the whole boat and frees up the volumes owners care about most. It takes the crossover idea into more of a true motor yacht format while keeping the long legs and clean lines. For buyers who found the earlier GranSports a touch too sporting inside, the 50 answers directly.

Three and a half decks of glass

The 50 spreads its accommodation over three and a half decks, a lot of boat for under 50 metres. Extensive glazing with frameless fashion plates wraps the superstructure, so daylight reaches deep into every deck. The raised pilot house lifts the helm and creates flexible living space on the deck below. The aluminium hull keeps the whole structure light enough to cruise economically.

Outdoor life is a headline feature. A Mangusta signature infinity pool sits forward on the main deck, a rare touch on a boat this size. Aft, a grand staircase drops down the transom to a convertible beach club that doubles as a gym. A side opening garage swallows a 6.3 metre tender plus two jet skis, keeping the toys out of sight until they are wanted. With the beach club open and the pool filled, the aft third of the boat becomes a private water resort at anchor.

Flexible living for twelve

Inside, the 50 carries up to 12 guests in five cabins, with crew of nine in five more. The raised pilot house layout lets the designers open up the main deck and upper deck into generous, flexible volumes. Owners can configure the spaces for family cruising or for entertaining, with big glazed saloons on more than one level. Natural light and outdoor connection run through the whole interior.

As ever the interior is a semi custom project, shaped with the owner through Alberto Mancini and the Overmarine office. The extra deck volume gives real scope for a large owner's area and proper guest suites. Materials and detailing are set to taste, from cool modern schemes to warmer classic ones. The result is closer to a full displacement motor yacht inside than any GranSport before it.

Ocean range on twin MTUs

The 50 is powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines of 2,600 hp each, driving conventional shaft lines. Top speed sits around 20 knots with an efficient cruise near 16 knots. At economical speed the range stretches to about 4,200 nautical miles, enough for real ocean passages. The aluminium hull and shaft drive are tuned for long, quiet, efficient running.

This is a crossover built more for reach and comfort than for the sprint of the smaller boats. The twin engine, twin shaft layout is simple, robust and economical over distance. Good tankage and a light hull combine to give the 50 genuine long haul ability. Keeping the yacht under 500 GT also holds engineering and crewing within sensible bounds for the volume on board.
