Acciaio 130

The Acciaio 130 is the largest expression of CdM's stealth-explorer idea, a 39.4 metre with expedition range dressed in classic superyacht lines. Hull one, Presence, was launched in October 2025, sold through Edmiston and scheduled for handover in January 2026, the third Acciaio after Gatto and Astrum.

Steel, by name and by nature

Acciaio is Italian for steel, and the line takes the yard's material honesty as its brand. It began with the 32 metre Acciaio 105 Gatto in 2018 and the Acciaio 123 Astrum, launched in 2019 and handed over at the start of 2020, both yachts that hid serious autonomy inside profiles a Mediterranean marina would read as conventional luxury tonnage. Both found owners who used them exactly as intended, quietly and far from the show circuit, which is the best endorsement this species of yacht can earn.

The 130 scales the recipe to 39.42 metres and around 388 tonnes of displacement, with Hydro Tec once again responsible for the exterior and the naval architecture. Where the Darwin advertises its purpose and the Deep Blue dramatises it, the Acciaio deliberately underplays it. Only the bulbous bow and the tank capacity give the game away.

Presence, a spec build that found its owner

CdM built the first Acciaio 130 on speculation, a statement of confidence in the segment it created, and launched her as Presence in October 2025. Marketed with Edmiston as co-central agent and delivery scheduled for January 2026, she was sold in short order, continuing the yard's run of hulls that never reach their first boat show unsold. For a builder that historically sold off renderings years ahead of launch, building on its own account was less a gamble than a scheduling device, a way to offer the rare commodity of a nearly immediate delivery.

Her interior is by Giorgio M. Cassetta, described by the yard as contemporary and fresh, deliberately informal, in soft tones and natural materials. Twelve guests sleep in five cabins, an owner's suite plus four guest cabins, two of them with Pullman berths for children or staff, and a crew of seven runs the ship.

Expedition range and a 13.5 knot top end, hidden inside lines a marina reads as classic luxury tonnage.

Small engines, long legs

The 130 runs twin Caterpillar C18 diesels of 533 kilowatts each, modest power by 40 metre standards and entirely the point. The efficient hull with its bulbous bow tops out at 13.5 knots and cruises at ten, where the range opens past 5,000 nautical miles. Fuel burn at cruise is closer to a 30 metre's than to that of the planing 40 metres she shares harbours with.

Measured at 410 GT, she carries less volume than the yard's 499 GT maximalists, and the running-cost arithmetic follows the tonnage down. For owners who count operating budgets as carefully as build budgets, the Acciaio proposition is unusually legible. Less installed power, less gross tonnage, fewer crew, the same oceans available. Port fees, class surveys and certification all scale with tonnage too, so the 410 GT measurement keeps paying for itself through every operating year of the boat's life.

The case for camouflage

There is a species of owner who wants to cross the Atlantic on their own keel and does not want to look like an oil-rig tender doing it. The Acciaio exists for exactly that buyer. Its raised pilothouse profile, balanced overhangs and conventional sheer read as timeless motor yacht, and the expedition capability stays a private fact between owner and captain.

The approach also future-proofs the boat aesthetically. Expedition styling is a fashion with a cycle, while the Acciaio's classic proportions have not dated since Gatto appeared in 2018. On the resale market that translates into a wider buyer pool, since the boat appeals to explorer clients and conventional displacement clients alike.

Inside the catalogue

Against the Deep Blue 130 and the Flexplorer 130's successors, the Acciaio 130 is the quiet sibling, no crane theatre, no flared beak, just volume, range and finish. It shares the yard's engineering DNA to the bolt, so choosing it sacrifices nothing structural. The decision is about how loudly a boat should announce what it can do.

Presence's quick sale suggests the answer for a meaningful slice of the market is quietly indeed. With hull one gone, the Acciaio 130 remains available as a new build on the same platform, specified cabin by cabin with Cassetta or a designer of the owner's choosing, on the yard's usual build cycle from Ancona.

Motoren und Technik

Main enginesDisputed for the same hull: twin MAN D2862LE units at 749 kW each per Cantiere delle Marche's own press releases, Boat International and Edmiston's brokerage listing for Presence/Journey, versus twin Caterpillar C18 units at 533 kW each per Arcon Yachts, the yard's own construction partner on the project. This is not a running change across hulls, since both descriptions name the same boat - flagged, not resolved
GeneratorsTwin 80 kW Caterpillar units, per Edmiston's listing for the delivered hull - not stated on the yard's own model page
StabilizersZero-speed stabilizers, per Edmiston's listing - not mentioned in the yard's own launch material
Gross tonnage415 GT per Edmiston's listing against 410 GT in the yard's own summary figure - a rounding difference, not a real conflict
Not publishedGearbox make and model, bow and stern thruster ratings, fresh water and black/grey water tankage - none appear in any source checked for this model

Was Eigner und Crew berichten

Was gut ist und worauf zu achten ist

Stärken

  • A hull that sold twice inside a yearPresence launched in October 2025 and was already resold and renamed Journey within months, real evidence that the flared, camouflaged-explorer format has buyer demand at 40 metres, not just yard marketing.
  • Range and tonnage discipline in one packageRoughly 5,000 nm at 10 knots from a hull measured at 410-415 GT keeps her under the registration, crewing and port-fee step that the yard's bigger 499 GT models carry, while matching their range.

Worauf zu achten ist

  • The engine spec depends who you ask, on the same hullCantiere delle Marche's own press office and her selling broker Edmiston both list twin MAN D2862LE units at 749 kW each, but the yard's own build partner Arcon Yachts lists twin Caterpillar C18 units at 533 kW each on its project page for the identical boat. A buyer should get the as-built engine spec in writing rather than trust either brochure.
  • No independent sea trial or owner account exists yetEvery performance and accommodation figure traces back to the yard's own material or to the brokers who sold her; no independent publication or forum account has surfaced for a hull delivered within the last year.

Praktische Angaben

Resale asking price seenAround EUR 25,000,000 for hull one (Presence/Journey), reported by trade press around her October 2025 launch and listing (Boat International, The Yachting Specialists) - no independent new-build price list was found
Hulls soldAt least two: Presence/Journey (delivered 2025-26, resold within months) and a further Acciaio 130 under contract to an undisclosed buyer (Boat International)
Fuel capacityReported as 'more than 54,000 litres' by Cantiere delle Marche and Boat International, and as 57,000 litres by Edmiston's listing for the same hull - both are the seller's own figures
RangeAbout 5,000 nm at 10 knots (Cantiere delle Marche, Boat International and Edmiston all agree)
Not publicly knownA confirmed as-built engine spec every source agrees on, crew size, gearbox make, thruster and water-tankage figures - none were found for this hull in any source checked

Für wen: An owner who wants transoceanic autonomy and CdM engineering without expedition styling, and who values low running costs and a discreet profile over deck machinery and drama.

Richtpreis: Trade press reported hull one, Presence, listed at EUR 25 million with Edmiston around her October 2025 launch. Treat that as a dated reference for a specified spec build, since new-build pricing moves with specification and market.
