ACI Marina Dubrovnik

ACI Marina Dubrovnik sits at the head of the Rijeka Dubrovacka inlet in the village of Komolac, on grounds that also carry a 16th-century Renaissance summer villa now under EU-funded restoration - and its own published numbers do not agree with each other. ACI's current website states 371 wet berths, 120 dry berths and a 45 metre daily maximum LOA, while its own downloadable 2026 tariff card prices wet berths up to 55 metres, and independent directories including Dockwalk and Europe Yachts separately state 380 wet berths, 140 dry berths and a 60 metre ceiling. That is worth reporting before anything else, on a marina six kilometres from Dubrovnik's UNESCO-listed Old Town and the gateway to the Elaphiti Islands.

The Elaphiti Islands are reachable by private boat in roughly 20 minutes to Kolocep, 30 to Lopud and 45 to Sipan, per Dubrovnik boat-excursion operators
On-site heritageLjetnikovac Sorkocevic, a Renaissance summer villa built for Petar Sorkocevic in the 16th century, stands on the marina's own grounds and is under EU-funded restoration, Project Skala, into a museum and traditional-craft quarter (ACI Marinas; Total Croatia News)
On-site marine serviceMarine Fokus, which describes itself as the only authorised Victron, Mastervolt, Webasto, Garmin, Dometic and Vetus warranty centre in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, operates from the marina Monday to Friday
Awardsmultiple Croatian Flower of Tourism quality awards and Blue Flag certification, per ACI's own site
Cancellation terms per ACI's general conditions of berth use: annual contracts require 30 days written notice by recorded delivery and carry no refund of sums already paid; daily berths are non-refundable for no-show or early departure except where ACI itself cannot deliver the booked berth
No marina-specific or Rijeka Dubrovacka-specific speed limit was published by any source the desk found; Croatia's general coastal rule, cited independently by two boating advisories, caps vessels at 5 knots within 150 m of shore and 8 knots from 150 to 300 m

A marina whose own published numbers do not agree with each other

None of these reads as a stale figure left over from an old page. The website carries a 2026 copyright line, the tariff PDF is the current price list distributed to charter operators, and Dockwalk and Europe Yachts both present their numbers as live directory entries. The safest number to lead with is ACI's own current website figure, since ACI is the operator, but a captain planning a call in the 45 to 60 metre range should not assume either published ceiling is the one that will actually be offered - that has to be confirmed directly with the marina office.

What is not in dispute is the shape of the place. ACI Marina Dubrovnik sits at the closed end of the Rijeka Dubrovacka, a narrow, current-free inlet that ACI's own material uses the monastery at Rozat to describe, and the marina's own grounds carry a second, older landmark: Ljetnikovac Sorkocevic, a 16th-century Renaissance summer villa now under EU-funded restoration. Few marinas in this directory can claim heritage architecture inside their own perimeter fence rather than simply nearby.

The approach, the inlet and who actually answers the radio

The inlet itself is unusual on this coast: a river-mouth channel between 170 and 400 metres wide running inland from Daksa to the marina, with a sea depth ACI's own material gives as 3 to 5 metres, though Europe Yachts separately states a range of 2 to 6 metres with a 5 metre maximum draft - another figure this page could not fully reconcile against the operator's own number. Unlike a tidal marina on the English Channel, there is no significant tide to plan the approach or departure around; the challenge here is the narrow channel itself and weekend congestion, not the water level.

No marina-specific or Rijeka Dubrovacka-specific speed limit for the final approach was published by any source this page checked. What does apply is Croatia's general coastal rule, cited independently by two boating advisories: 5 knots within 150 metres of shore, 8 knots from 150 to 300 metres. No compulsory-pilotage threshold specific to this inlet was found either - large-yacht captains should treat that as a gap to close with the marina office directly rather than an absence of any rule at all.

ACI's own 2026 price list runs a wet berth up to 55 metres, its own website caps the same berths at 45 metres and two independent directories say the real ceiling is 60 - three numbers from sources that all present themselves as current.

What a berth actually costs, and where the published numbers stop

The catamaran surcharge is the sharpest number on the card: every wet and dry berth category costs double for a catamaran or trimaran, at any length, in any season. A 12 metre monohull's annual wet berth runs EUR7,754, or EUR4,268 for the six-month winter season alone, again per ACI's own 2026 list - genuinely published numbers, unlike the annual and monthly rates at several other marinas in this directory that require a direct quote.

Where the published card does stop is the fine print around it. ACI's general conditions of berth use require an advance payment for an annual contract, set 30 days' written notice by recorded delivery for cancellation, and state plainly that sums already paid are not refunded on withdrawal; a daily berth carries no refund for a no-show or early departure unless ACI itself fails to deliver the booked berth. None of that is hidden, but none of it sits on the price list itself - a buyer has to read the separate terms-and-conditions document to find it, and no waiting-list policy for an annual berth was published anywhere the desk could find.

Fuel on the quay, and serious refit capability behind the heritage villa

That combination puts real haul-out and systems work inside the same gate as the berth, rather than requiring a tow to a neighbouring yard and it is a genuine point of difference from marinas that offer nothing beyond fuel and water. The charter guide 45 Degrees Sailing, written from direct experience running boats through the marina, warns that the fuel dock's queue can run long on Friday afternoons as charter fleets return to base together, and separately advises dumping holding tanks before approaching the marina rather than at the fuel berth itself, where it causes delay at changeover.

The heritage villa on the same grounds, Ljetnikovac Sorkocevic, is not a museum piece kept separate from the working marina - ACI's own announcements describe an EU grant of 2.7 million kuna toward reconstructing the mansion into a museum, a school of traditional crafts and new retail space, with the surrounding park also due for restoration under the project name Skala. A berth-holder here is, in effect, parked inside an active heritage-tourism development rather than a purely functional yard.

What is actually within walking distance

The same guide is candid that the on-site supermarket and restaurant choice is thin and wait times can run long during peak summer changeover, and recommends the larger Super Konzum in Gruz for real provisioning rather than relying on the marina's own small shop - a genuinely useful, unflattering detail that a marketing page would not volunteer. Komolac village itself is walkable too, including the short path up to the Ombla springs, a small waterfall that has supplied Dubrovnik's drinking water since 1438.

For anything beyond Komolac, Dubrovnik's Old Town is the obvious draw, though the distance itself is another figure this page could not pin down to one number: ACI's own site and the Medgulets sailing guide both give 6 kilometres, Europe Yachts gives 2.5 kilometres, and 45 Degrees Sailing gives roughly 10 kilometres and 15 minutes by road. A captain planning a crew night out in the Old Town should budget the longer estimate and treat anything shorter as a pleasant surprise.

The Elaphiti Islands and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival set the cruising and event calendar

Kolocep is reachable in roughly 20 minutes and is known locally for its sea caves; Lopud, about 30 minutes out, carries the sandy Sunj beach; Sipan, the largest of the three at around 45 minutes, is known for vineyards and olive groves rather than beaches - a genuine spread of character across three short hops, per Dubrovnik boat-excursion operators who run the same route daily. Mljet, with its national park and saltwater lake, sits further out again at roughly two hours by boat and is the common longer day trip once the closer Elaphitis have been covered.

Inside the marina, 45 Degrees Sailing describes Saturdays specifically as the marina's busiest and most congested day, driven by charter-fleet changeover rather than any single festival date, and recommends pre-booking transfers with written confirmation and paying for priority check-in where it is offered. No source found states whether Dubrovnik Summer Festival week itself measurably changes marina congestion beyond that normal Saturday pattern, which is worth flagging as an open question rather than an answered one.

What captains and charterers actually say about berthing here

None of the specific complaints are about the marina's core infrastructure - the fuel dock exists and works, the travel lifts operate, the berths are real - the friction is entirely about volume at peak times. The guide's practical advice reads like it was written by someone who has done the changeover badly at least once: dump holding tanks before arrival rather than at the fuel berth, pack lunch rather than queue at the on-site restaurants in July heat, and confirm any pre-booked transfer in writing to avoid a price dispute at the gate.

No independent guest-review presence was found for ACI Marina Dubrovnik itself on TripAdvisor, unlike several other ACI marinas in the same region that do carry public reviews (some critical, on mooring lines and noise), which leaves this page's owner-experience picture resting on a single, detailed and credible source rather than a spread of independent voices - a genuine limitation this page states rather than papers over.

Was Eigner und Crew berichten

Was gut ist und worauf zu achten ist

Stärken

  • A real fuel dock, not a gap to route aroundThe N jetty fuel berth puts refuelling inside the same gate as the berth, unlike several marinas in this directory that send a yacht elsewhere entirely.
  • Genuine haul-out and systems capability on site60 tonne and 130 tonne travel lifts plus Marine Fokus, an authorised multi-brand warranty centre, sit inside the same perimeter as the berths.
  • Heritage grounds under active restorationThe Renaissance-era Ljetnikovac Sorkocevic stands on the marina's own property and is the subject of an EU-funded restoration into a museum and craft quarter, not a curiosity next door.
  • A short run to the Old Town and a real cruising ground beyond itDubrovnik's UNESCO walls and the Elaphiti Islands - Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan - are all reachable within roughly 15 to 45 minutes, by road or by water.

Worauf zu achten ist

  • Even the operator's own numbers disagree with each otherACI's website states 371 berths and a 45 m ceiling while its own 2026 tariff card prices berths to 55 m, and independent directories separately state 380 berths and a 60 m ceiling - no single figure can be given with confidence.
  • The cancellation and deposit terms sit outside the price listA buyer has to read a separate general-conditions document to find the 30-day notice period and no-refund rule; no annual-berth waiting-list policy is published anywhere the desk could find.
  • Peak-season bottlenecks are real and specificThe Friday fuel dock queue and thin on-site provisioning are both documented first-hand rather than inferred, and Saturday changeover is described as the marina's most congested day.
  • Independent, public guest reviews are essentially absentNo TripAdvisor review presence was found for this marina specifically, unlike several neighbouring ACI marinas, leaving the owner-experience picture on a single detailed source rather than a spread of independent voices.

Für wen: An owner or charter captain basing a yacht in the southern Adriatic for the Dubrovnik Old Town, the Elaphiti Islands and the Dalmatian coast, who wants real fuel, haul-out and refit capability inside the same inlet rather than a berth with nothing behind it
