A price you will not find on Sunseeker's own website
Sunseeker's own official specification page for the 88 Yacht carries no price field whatsoever -- not a starting figure, not a range, nothing. The only numbers in print come from journalists who have driven or toured the boat: Hugo Andreae put her at GBP 5.6 million ex VAT at her UK launch in May 2021 for Motor Boat & Yachting, while Jack Haines, testing a later model year for YachtBuyer, quoted a base price from GBP 6.3 million ex VAT with a fully optioned test boat closer to GBP 7.4 million. Neither figure is wrong; they simply describe different years and different specifications, which is itself the point -- a buyer cannot get a straight answer from the manufacturer.
The used market tells a similar story from the other direction. Earlier, smaller hulls built between 2010 and 2014 under a related but different Sunseeker model line ask roughly USD 2.5 to 4 million on the brokerage market, while second-generation 88 Yacht hulls built from 2021 onward ask USD 7.3 to 10.4 million, according to YachtWorld listings. A buyer researching this boat should expect to go through a broker for a real number at every stage, new or used.

Lo que cuentan armadores y tripulaciones
A sea trial called her handling "remarkable" for an 80-tonne boat
Jack Haines found near-30-knot performance from 4,000hp combined despite the boat's roughly 80-tonne displacement, with handling "like on rails with almost immediate effect" and the CMC Marine fin stabilisers effectively nullifying roll. He also flagged real weaknesses: a forward, windscreen-isolated galley he called "not suited for all" that compromises lower-helm visibility aft and to port, a foredeck he judged less inventive than rivals', and MTU engine switchgear that looks "outdated compared to modern dashboard."
Jack Haines, YachtBuyer (September 2024)The transforming aft transom was singled out as a genuine innovation
At the UK launch, the transom's one-button transformation between sunpad, beach club and forward-facing sunpad was demonstrated, and the VIP cabin was said to not "feel second best in any way."
Hugo Andreae, Motor Boat & Yachting (27 May 2021)A separate named sea trial called her a "true super yacht"
Nick Burnham's trial praised the craftsmanship and innovation on board, though it gave no fuel-burn figures or rival comparison.

Lo bueno y lo que conviene vigilar
Puntos fuertes
- Sharp handling at genuine superyacht scaleNear-30-knot top speed and handling described as "on rails" from a roughly 80-tonne hull, with effective fin stabilisation, per Jack Haines' sea trial (YachtBuyer, 2024).
- A transom that earns its own headlineThe one-button transforming beach club, sunpad and forward-facing sunpad was highlighted as a real design innovation at launch, not just a marketing feature (Motor Boat & Yachting, 2021).
- Interior detailing praised across reviewersBoth Haines and Burnham singled out the craftsmanship and finish, and the VIP cabin was said to hold its own against the master (Motor Boat & Yachting, 2021).
A tener en cuenta
- The galley layout draws real criticismJack Haines called the forward, windscreen-isolated galley "not suited for all" and noted it compromises lower-helm sightlines aft and to port -- a genuine layout trade-off, not a nitpick (YachtBuyer, 2024).
- The foredeck and engine switchgear read as datedThe same trial judged the foredeck less inventive than rival boats in the class and described the MTU engine control switchgear as visually outdated next to a modern digital dashboard.
- No fixed price and no fuel-burn figures are publishedSunseeker's own spec page carries no price at all, and no sea trial found gives fuel consumption at speed, leaving a buyer to get both from a broker rather than the yard.
Información práctica
| New price | Not a fixed published list price. Hugo Andreae (Motor Boat & Yachting, 27 May 2021) put her at GBP 5.6 million ex VAT at UK launch; Jack Haines (YachtBuyer, September 2024) put a base boat from GBP 6.3 million ex VAT with a test configuration near GBP 7.4 million ex VAT. The difference reflects model-year inflation and options, not a single fixed price |

| Pricing transparency | Sunseeker's own official spec page carries no price field at all -- a figure is only obtainable through a broker or a named journalist's sea trial report, which is itself worth stating plainly |
| What is not published | No fixed manufacturer list price, no generator output, no watermaker capacity, no fuel burn at speed, and no running or berthing cost figures were found from any named source |
