A flagship that sold before it swam

BOAT International reported the first tri-deck FD110 delivered on October 25, 2022, timed so the yacht could make its public debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show the same week. By then at least five units of the model had been sold, an extraordinary vote of confidence in a design buyers had only seen on paper and in the yard's earlier FD hulls.

Hull one told the ownership story in miniature: an American owner planning the US East Coast and the Bahamas, with the yacht made available for charter between family use. The order book has kept moving since, and brokers list new FD110 Tri-Decks for 2026 delivery, keeping the model in continuous production four years after launch.

The 250 ton trick

The FD110's defining number is volume: roughly 250 gross tons of interior on a hull under 34 meters. The High Performance Piercing Bow developed with designer Cor D. Rover carries the beam far forward, so the superstructure and accommodation start where a conventional bow would still be tapering. Full-height windows and elongated decks turn that geometry into light and usable floor area on every level. Volume is the measurement this market buys on, and few competitors deliver 250 tons of it under 34 meters.

The rest of the measurements support the impression. The waterline runs 30.47 meters on a 33.99 meter hull, the beam is 7.47 meters and displacement is 155 tons, yet draft is only 1.88 meters. That last figure matters more than any other for the way these boats are actually used, opening the Bahamas banks, the Florida Keys and the shallow corners of the Exumas.

Performance without drama

Horizon has fitted more than one engine option across the production run: Horizon's own spec sheet lists twin Caterpillar C32A diesels at 1,600 hp each, Yachting magazine's sea trial and brokerage listings report 1,900 hp C32As on other hulls, and a 2026-delivery hull lists twin MAN V12-1550s at 1,550 hp each instead. Reported top speed moves with the engine choice, from about 18.5 to 19 knots, not the 21 knots once claimed on this page with no source behind it. The fast displacement hull form does its best work lower down the rev range, where it holds an efficient, easy motion at displacement and semi-displacement speeds instead of demanding planing power.

Capacities are sized for real cruising: 17,030 liters of fuel, about 4,500 US gallons, and 3,025 liters of fresh water, with twin 55 kW Kohler generators carrying the hotel systems. It is an unglamorous specification sheet in the best sense, standard commercial-grade machinery that any yard in Florida or the Mediterranean can service without a call to Taiwan.

Tri-Deck or Skyline, master on deck

The accommodation centers on an on-deck deluxe master stateroom, with four en-suite guest cabins below for a total of ten guests in five cabins, and forward crew quarters that sleep a crew of six. A large, fully equipped beach club sits aft at the waterline, and dining and entertaining spaces repeat across the aft decks, the salon and the upper levels.

Horizon offers the model as a full Tri-Deck with an open top level or as a Skyline with an enclosed skylounge, and hull one showed how far owners can push the finish, with interiors in washed wenge and dark oak, a sundeck wet bar and a foredeck jacuzzi behind a Portuguese bridge. The yard's 2026 material frames the boat as an island resort that happens to cruise comfortably at displacement speed.

The owner's math

The FD110 occupies a commercially clever slot: real tri-deck presence and a five-cabin, ten-guest layout, the format charter markets prefer, on a hull that a crew of six runs comfortably and marinas still accommodate. For American owners the factory-owned support operation in Florida removes the usual anxiety about buying from a distant yard.

It is also the proof point for the whole FD idea at scale. The volume, the shallow draft, the sensible machinery and the pace of the order book all flow from series engineering that was proven on smaller FD hulls first, and the model's resale story benefits from every sistership afloat.
