Potencia MTU y alcance real
Motores y sistemas
| Engines | Twin MTU 16V 4000 M73 diesel-electric units, 2,560 kW at 1,970 rpm each per Feadship's own hull record, equivalent to the 3,433 hp per engine figure quoted by YachtCharterFleet and YachtBuyer once converted (not a real conflict). Yachts International describes the propulsion as full hybrid diesel-electric. |
|---|---|
| Top speed | Stated conflict: 18 knots (SuperYachtTimes-sourced aggregator figures, Yachts International) versus 18.5 knots (YachtCharterFleet, YachtBuyer, Anyships). |
| Cruise speed | Stated conflict: 12 knots is the figure used by most sources including Yachts International's original delivery-era report and the range calculation itself (5,000nm at 12 knots, agreed everywhere); YachtCharterFleet and YachtBuyer instead give 13.5 knots as cruise speed. |
| Range | 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Consistent across Feadship's own page, Cecil Wright, YachtCharterFleet, YachtBuyer and Yachts International. |
| Fuel tankage | Stated conflict: 160,000 litres per most secondary listings (YachtCharterFleet, YachtBuyer, Anyships) versus 167,500 litres per Feadship's own official hull-record page, which should be treated as the more authoritative figure. |
| Fresh water | Stated conflict: 50,000 litres per YachtCharterFleet and Anyships versus 37,600 litres per Feadship's own hull-record page. |
| Generators | Three Caterpillar C18 units at 1500 rpm, per Feadship's own hull record. |
| Stabilisers | At-anchor stabilisers fitted, per YachtCharterFleet. |
| Hull and naval architecture | Steel hull with aluminium superstructure and teak decks, four decks, displacement hull. Naval architecture by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects. Gross tonnage is a stated conflict: 2,691 to 2,700 GT in delivery-era figures versus 3,000 GT in current YachtCharterFleet and YachtBuyer listings, possibly reflecting the 2024 refit, though no source explains the change. |
| Guest and crew capacity | Stated conflict on guests and cabins: 12 guests in 6 staterooms plus 2 owners at delivery, per Yachts International's 2018 reporting, versus 14 guests in 7 cabins in current YachtCharterFleet and YachtBuyer listings. Crew capacity is consistently reported at 27, with 15 crew cabins plus a captain's cabin per Yachts International. |
| Tenders and toys | 22 hatches, doors and platforms for tender and toy access, a telescopic boom for tender boarding without deploying stairs, VIP stateroom balconies with direct tender access, an AW169-capable helicopter deck with a 3.92-tonne crane and twin helipads (sundeck aft and foredeck), per Yachts International and the original delivery release. |
| Pool, beach club and spa | A glass-bottomed pool that doubles as the beach club ceiling with an integrated cinema screen at one end, a motorised flush transom hatch that opens and closes like a convertible car roof to form the beach club and a foredeck jacuzzi with custom temperature control reported at 10-38C or 50-100F, the same range in different units. Also a spa, beauty salon, indoor-outdoor gym and a glass elevator connecting five decks. |
| Support vessel (Hodor) | A dedicated support/shadow vessel named Hodor accompanies Lonian, reported as 216ft or 217ft, roughly 66m, a minor stated conflict on exact length. Carries tenders, jet skis, ATVs, gym equipment and a helicopter, with crew numbers reported as 20 or 22, another minor stated conflict. Claims of a personal submarine aboard Hodor appear only in lower-quality secondary sources and should be treated as unverified. |
Lo que cuentan armadores y tripulaciones
Feadship describes the owners' brief as a fifteen-year conversation about a yacht built to be at anchor, not in marinas
"The owners visited Feadship many times over fifteen years as they pondered how best to give expression to their vision for a yacht that could anchor in secluded spots and be open to the elements in as many ways as possible." This is the yard's own account of the commissioning process (design/build team, promotional but first-hand).
Feadship, official builder statement, feadship.nl fleet page for LonianThe yard frames the hull as intentionally muscular rather than sleek
"The result is a Feadship with the presence and stance of a beefy motor yacht which simultaneously retains an elegant and slender air." Feadship also states the owners chose Sinot specifically for the studio's masculine design language. First-hand-but-promotional, from the builder's own materials.
Feadship, official builder statement, reported via multiple outlets including Boat International and superyacht pressEven outside observers had to improvise procedures around the yacht's sheer size
When Lonian and her support vessel anchored off Santa Barbara in August 2021, the Harbor Patrol fielded resident calls questioning what the vessels were. "We provided them with anchor coordinates at that time," and this was "nothing overly out of the ordinary as we occasionally provide anchor coordinates for vessels too large to moor in the harbor, and they typically shuttle into port using tender boats." An independent, named account of the yacht in real operation, not from the owner or yard.

Lo bueno y lo que conviene vigilar
Puntos fuertes
- A genuinely owner-brief-driven design, not a generic catalogue hullThe 22 hatches, doors and platforms, the flush motorized transom beach club that closes like a convertible roof and the translucent-bottomed pool doubling as the beach club ceiling with an integrated cinema screen are documented consistently across Yachts International's 2018 unveiling report and Boat International's coverage, not just yard marketing copy. It was a finalist in two categories (Outstanding Exterior Motor Yachts 50m+ and Outstanding Lifestyle Feature) at the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards 2020, an independent industry jury result, not a self-reported claim.
- Built and specced for genuine at-anchor, off-grid living rather than marina cruising5,000nm range at 12 knots, a 66m support vessel (Hodor) carrying tenders, water toys and extra crew, twin helipads and an AW169-capable helicopter deck with a 3.92-tonne crane are all confirmed across Feadship's own spec sheet, YachtCharterFleet and Yachts International. This is a real expedition-style package, not just headline numbers.
A tener en cuenta
- The current owner's identity has never been confirmed by the yard, a broker or the ownerEvery attribution to Lorenzo Fertitta traces back to SuperyachtFan's own estimate, then repeated as fact by secondary outlets based on dockside sightings of the vessel, never on a broker record, registry filing or on-the-record statement. Feadship's own materials note the owners requested a full year of privacy after delivery and do not name them. Treat the ownership attribution as widely reported but formally unverified.
- The USD 160 million price is a third-party valuation, not a recorded transactionSuperyachtFan's USD 160m purchase-price figure and roughly USD 15m a year running-cost estimate are repeated uncritically across nearly every press piece on the yacht. No outlet cites a broker-confirmed sale price. Lonian shows no public brokerage sale record. A buyer or researcher should treat both figures as unverifiable estimates.
- Aggregator listings disagree with each other and with the yard's own numbers on several hard specsGross tonnage is given as 2,691 to 2,700 GT by SuperYachtTimes-sourced figures but 3,000 GT by YachtCharterFleet and YachtBuyer. Guest and cabin capacity is reported as 12 guests in 6 cabins in 2018-2019 delivery-era coverage versus 14 guests in 7 cabins in current YachtCharterFleet and YachtBuyer listings, which may reflect the 2024 refit but is not explained by any source. Fuel and fresh-water tankage figures on general listing sites (160,000 litres fuel, 50,000 litres water) do not match Feadship's own hull-record page (167,500 litres fuel, 37,600 litres water). A buyer should confirm current numbers directly with the yard or a broker rather than trust any single aggregator.
- The interior is thinly documented in independent mediaYachts International's own 2018 report notes that interior images remained unreleased by the ownership at the time. No independent outlet published a walkthrough or professional photo set of the interior beyond renders and a handful of exterior and deck shots. Buyers cannot currently verify interior condition or finish quality from public sources alone.
Información práctica
| Asking / sale price | No confirmed asking or sale price is published anywhere. The USD 160,000,000 figure circulated online is SuperyachtFan's own estimate of the original 2018 purchase price, repeated by secondary press, not a broker-listed or transaction-confirmed number. |
|---|---|
| Brokerage status | Cecil Wright & Partners carries a Lonian reference page with both charter and sales enquiry calls to action, but no independent source confirms an active current listing. Other trackers (YachtBuyer) explicitly mark the yacht not for sale. Likely a portfolio or reference entry rather than a live listing; confirm directly with the broker before assuming availability. |
| Charter availability | Explicitly stated as not available for private charter by YachtCharterFleet and in Feadship's original 2018 delivery coverage. The yacht is privately operated by its owner. |
| Delivery date | 16 November 2018, per YachtCharterFleet's delivery report; Feadship's own hull record confirms year 2018. No source disputes the year; only YachtCharterFleet supplies the exact date. |
| Refit history | Returned to Feadship's Aalsmeer yard for a five-year warranty check completed with sea trials in June 2024, covering a full repaint, interior repairs and renewals and technical upgrades, per Feadship's own refit page and Boat International coverage. No defects or failures were disclosed; framed as routine warranty work plus owner-requested enhancements. |
| What is not published | The registered or beneficial owner's identity (never confirmed by yard or broker, only inferred from repeated dockside sightings); the actual purchase price and any resale history; verified running or operating costs (the roughly USD 15,000,000 a year figure is an unsourced third-party estimate); and independent interior photography or a professional sea-trial performance review. |
