Motores y sistemas
| Engine package | Triple Mercury Verado 600hp V12 outboards, 1800hp combined, confirmed by Motor Boat and Yachting, Power and Motoryacht, YachtBuyer and Azimut's own spec page. No quad engine option for the Verve 48 was found in this research; the predecessor Verve 47 used quad 450hp Mercury Racing outboards, which the Verve 48's triple 600hp package replaced |
|---|---|
| Fuel tankage | 2,340 liters (618 US gallons), matching figures from Azimut's official spec page and Power and Motoryacht |
| Water tankage | 300 liters (79 US gallons), matching Azimut's official spec page and Power and Motoryacht; Motor Boat and Yachting flagged this as small for extended cruising |
| Hull material and construction | GRP hull with carbon fiber used in structural and hardtop elements; stepped V, ventilated tunnel hull with 13.6 degree aft deadrise and 16.8 degree center deadrise, hull design by Michael Peters, exterior and interior design by Francesco Struglia, per Azimut's official spec page |
| Docking and handling systems | Mercury joystick piloting system for low speed maneuvering and docking, plus a single lever throttle mode with automatic trim managing all three engines together, reported by Motor Boat and Yachting, Power and Motoryacht and YachtBuyer |
| Electronics and monitoring | Raymarine based electronics and multifunction displays controlling engines, alarms, bilge and water discharge pumps, tank levels, ventilation and air conditioning, accessible from the helm or a mobile app; Power and Motoryacht noted the vessel monitoring system's graphical interface is shared with Azimut's larger 80 foot motoryacht line |
| Optional stabilization and comfort systems | Seakeeper 6 gyro stabilizer offered as a cost option (about 85,000 to 86,700 euros depending on source), along with an optional bow thruster, electric cockpit table, and glass hardtop sunroof, none of which are standard equipment |
Lo que cuentan armadores y tripulaciones
Handling described as agile and precise even in chop
Alex Smith drove the Verve 48 in 3 to 4 foot seas off the Med and called the drive really agile and well balanced, saying steering through the rotating gear cases felt spot on and maneuverability was nigh on impeccable, crediting the carbon fiber construction for keeping the handling crisp
Alex Smith, Motor Boat and YachtingWater tank and cruising fuel burn flagged as real limits
The same test measured 12 litres per mile at 15 to 16 knots and under 9 litres per mile at 30 knots, and separately criticized the 300 litre water tank as too small for ambitious long distance cruising, concluding the boat suits weekending rather than extended cruising
Alex Smith, Motor Boat and YachtingBoat stayed dry and composed at speed in rough water
Louisa Beckett's sea trial reached 40 knots in 3 to 4 foot seas and reported the hull cleanly parted the seas and diverted spray, keeping the windshield dry, with the Mercury joystick making tight quarters maneuvering easy
Louisa Beckett, Power and MotoryachtBuild quality trickles down from Azimut's larger motoryachts
Beckett noted the vessel monitoring system and its graphical interface are the same as fitted to the Azimut 80, and rated overall fit and finish as comparable to Azimut's 60 to 80 foot models rather than a typical outboard dayboat
Louisa Beckett, Power and MotoryachtHelm functions well but a few interior details feel cheaper than the rest of the boat
YachtBuyer's test praised the joystick for making berthing a breeze and the driving position as effortless at speed, but singled out the dashboard air vents as looking a bit cheap relative to the surrounding build quality

Lo bueno y lo que conviene vigilar
Puntos fuertes
- Genuine sports-boat performance from the triple outboard packageTriple Mercury Verado 600hp V12 outboards give 1800hp combined; Motor Boat and Yachting measured 47.6 knots top speed and a sustainable 30 knot cruise at 4000rpm, while Azimut and YachtBuyer both quote speeds over 50 knots, with reviewers across MBY, Power and Motoryacht and YachtBuyer all praising the acceleration and single lever, auto trim control
- Composed, dry ride in a chopIndependent trials by Motor Boat and Yachting and Power and Motoryacht both reported a dry windshield and settled ride at 40 plus knots in 3 to 4 foot seas, a genuine seakeeping strength for a boat this size
- Deck space and entertaining layout are a clear step up from the Verve 47Azimut's own figures and multiple reviews cite 35 percent more usable deck and swim platform area than the outgoing Verve 47, plus a fold out cockpit table, full beam wet bar and an opening carbon fiber hardtop, features that helped it win Highly Commended at the Motor Boat Awards 2024 and the Robb Report Best of the Best 2024 dayboat award
- Build quality above what the segment usually offersPower and Motoryacht noted the shared vessel monitoring system and interface with Azimut's 60 to 80 foot motoryachts, and YachtBuyer scored design and build 5 out of 5, citing thick mouldings and robust construction
A tener en cuenta
- Fuel consumption and range remain heavy for cruising beyond day tripsMotor Boat and Yachting measured roughly 9 to 12 litres per mile depending on speed against a 2340 litre (618 US gallon) tank, and concluded this discourages ambitious long distance cruising despite claimed efficiency gains over the Verve 47
- Accommodation is a genuine weekender, not a proper cruising interiorWith only a 300 litre (79 US gallon) water tank, a single shared head, and an aft twin cabin both MBY and YachtBuyer describe as short on natural light and space (deep side decks steal headroom below), reviewers agree the two cabin, four berth layout is secondary to the day-boating brief
- Key comfort and convenience equipment costs extra rather than coming standardBoth Motor Boat and Yachting and YachtBuyer list a bow thruster at about 15,500 euros and a Seakeeper 6 gyro stabilizer at about 85,000 to 86,700 euros (the two sources differ slightly on the exact Seakeeper and electric table figures) as cost options on a boat with a seven figure base price, alongside a 17,850 euro hardtop sunroof and an electric cockpit table around 22,000 to 22,150 euros
- Minor fit and finish inconsistency and a confusing position versus the Verve 42YachtBuyer flagged dashboard air vents that look cheap next to the rest of the cabin; separately, published ex VAT pricing found in this research shows the smaller, older Verve 42 (about 1,356,550 to 1,450,000 euros) listed higher than the Verve 48 base price (about 1,150,000 euros), an unresolved conflict in the sourced figures rather than a confirmed model-line pricing logic
Información práctica
| New price (base, ex VAT) | About 1,150,000 euros ex VAT as tested in early 2024, per Motor Boat and Yachting and YachtBuyer; this excludes options such as the Seakeeper stabilizer, bow thruster, electric table and hardtop sunroof, which can add well over 150,000 euros combined |
|---|---|
| US market pricing | YachtBuyer's US listings for the Verve 48 show new-build prices ranging from about 1,299,000 to 1,439,000 dollars depending on model year and configuration; exact used asking prices from YachtWorld and MarineMax listings for 2024 to 2026 hull years could not be retrieved directly (pages returned access errors during this research), so treat these as needing broker confirmation |
| Verve 42 versus Verve 48 pricing (unresolved conflict) | Sourced figures show a 2025 Verve 42 at roughly 1,356,550 euros ex VAT and another figure near 1,450,000 euros, both higher than the Verve 48's roughly 1,150,000 euro base figure, despite the 42 being the smaller, lower powered model. This research could not resolve why; it may reflect different model years, equipment levels, or a promotional Verve 48 figure, and should be checked against a current dealer quote rather than assumed |
| Dealer and brokerage network | Sold new through Azimut's official dealer network; in the US this runs primarily through MarineMax, which lists Verve 48 locations including Pompano Beach, Miami, West Palm Beach, Pensacola and Dania Beach in Florida plus Seabrook, Texas. Brokerage of used units also appears through HMY Yachts, United Yacht Sales and SI Yachts |
| Position in the Verve range | The Verve 48 sits above the 12.90 meter (42 foot) Verve 42 and directly replaces the outgoing Verve 47, which used four 450hp Mercury Racing outboards versus the Verve 48's three 600hp Verados. Azimut and YachtBuyer both describe the wider Verve series (spanning the 42 and 48) as the number one seller by US market share in its category, with over 120 units sold across the series in four years; that figure is for the series, not the Verve 48 alone |
| What to check on a used example | Because the model only launched in 2023, most used boats will still be low hours; verify actual hours on all three Mercury Verado 600 V12 outboards and whether they remain under Mercury's warranty or a service plan, confirm exactly which costly options are fitted (Seakeeper 6 gyro, bow thruster, electric cockpit table, glass hardtop sunroof, since none of these are standard), inspect the fold out gunwale and hydraulic swim platform mechanisms for wear, and check the carbon fiber hardtop and glass sunroof seals for leaks, since equipment levels vary significantly between US and European spec boats |
