How the 43m Fast Handles at Sea, and Why the Spec Sheet Shifts by Hull
The only independent sea trial found, run by Barche Magazine, backs up the shipyard's speed claims rather than just repeating them. The boat held 31 knots on the water with the twin MTU 16V4000s working hard, and at a 26 knot cruise the trial logged 1,550 litres an hour, worked out to 59.61 litres per nautical mile, a number the magazine called notable for a boat capable of over 30 knots. The four stabiliser fins were credited with keeping things flat both underway and at anchor, and the owner on board is quoted saying fuel consumption at 28 knots was great, singling out how much quieter and smoother the ride felt than expected from a boat this fast. That is a real, named account, not shipyard copy, and it is the strongest single piece of evidence found that the 43m Fast delivers on its performance claims in practice.
What the trial does not settle is which spec sheet actually describes a given hull. This model has been built across seven deliveries between 2007 and 2025, and the sources disagree with each other on real hardware, not just rounding. Generator ratings come back as either 80 kW or 100 kW Kohler units depending on whether the source is the sea trial report or a brokerage listing. Stabiliser brand splits between AB Trac and Naiad Dynamics depending on the hull, and one hull's own builder listing even shows a smaller engine than others. None of that is necessarily a flaw in the boat, it is what happens with an eighteen year semi-custom production run, but it means the number printed in a brochure for engines, generators or stabilisers is not something to take on faith. Anyone seriously looking at a specific hull should get that hull's builder file rather than relying on the model-level spec sheet.
Motores y sistemas
| Main engines (2021-2025 hulls, HT generation) | 2 x MTU 16V4000 M93L, 2 x 3,440 kW (approx. 4,680 hp) at 2,100 rpm, driving water jets. Confirmed independently by Barche Magazine's technical sea trial write-up and Romeo United Yachts' brokerage specification sheet. |
|---|---|
| Gearboxes | Not disclosed in any source found for this page. Propulsion is by water jet, which carries its own integral reduction drive rather than a conventional shaft gearbox. |
| Generators | Sources disagree. Barche Magazine's sea trial report lists 2 x 80 kW, 400V/50Hz gensets. Romeo United Yachts' brokerage sheet lists 2 x 100 kW Kohler units. The Barche figure is preferred here as it comes from a measured trial report rather than a sales listing, but the discrepancy is unresolved. |
| Stabilisers | 4 fins, active underway and at anchor, standard across the line, though the fitted brand varies by hull: AB Trac on later HT-generation hulls per Barche Magazine and Romeo United Yachts, Naiad Dynamics on earlier hulls per Boat International and Superyachts.com. |
| Bow and stern thrusters | Not disclosed in any source found for this page. |
| Watermaker | Not disclosed in any source found for this page. |
| Fuel and water tankage | 41,000 litres of fuel and 5,800 litres of fresh water, consistent across Barche Magazine, Romeo United Yachts and Superyachts.com. |
| Range | About 700 nautical miles at cruise per Boat International, Romeo United Yachts and Superyachts.com, though a Boat International brokerage report and a YachtBuyer listing for a sister hull instead give 900 to 1,000nm, so range appears to vary with load. |
| Engine room access | Not disclosed in any source found for this page. |
Lo que cuentan armadores y tripulaciones
Owner praised the balance of speed and fuel economy on sea trial
During the trial the owner said that cruising at 28 knots the fuel consumption was great, and the report separately credits the boat with a notably successful reduction in noise and vibration at speed.

Lo bueno y lo que conviene vigilar
Puntos fuertes
- Genuinely fast for the sizeWaterjet-driven MTU 16V4000s took the boat to a sea-trial-verified 31 knots in Barche Magazine's report, unusually quick for a 43m aluminium semi-displacement yacht.
- Fuel efficiency at speedBarche Magazine's trial recorded 59.61 litres per nautical mile at 26 knots, a figure the magazine itself flagged as notable for a yacht capable of over 30 knots.
- A proven, long-running platformSeven hulls delivered between 2007 and 2025 per Romeo United Yachts, so the design has years of real service history rather than being an unproven first-of-line.
- The 2020-2021 restyle added real usable spaceYachting Pages and Charterworld both report the Paszkowski-led update lowered the bulwark, enlarged the windows and added a hardtop, opening up the flybridge and main deck without changing the underlying hull.
A tener en cuenta
- Public specification is inconsistent hull to hullEngine rating, generator size and stabiliser brand all differ across sources for different individual hulls, so a buyer cannot rely on one generic spec sheet and needs that specific hull's builder file.
- Key equipment is simply not published anywhere foundNo source turned up bow thruster or watermaker details for this model, an unusual gap for a yacht this size that a buyer will need to confirm directly with the yard or a broker.
- Thin independent test coverageBeyond one Barche Magazine sea trial, no major outlet appears to have run its own independent trial of this specific model. Most public material is shipyard-supplied renderings and press releases.
- Shallow draft is a real trade-off, not just a featureAt 1.7m draft the semi-displacement hull gives up underwater volume for shoal access, a known limitation of the type that this yacht does not escape.
