Two industry awards, and a name to watch for
RUSH, the first hull of the line, won her category at the World Superyacht Awards 2023, the judging panel calling her fast, stylish and fully featured, and noting she was both the largest and fastest yacht entered in her size class that year. She had already won Best Exterior Design at the World Yacht Trophies 2022. Baglietto's CEO Diego Michele Deprati called her the best evolution of the yard's tradition in performance motor yachts at the awards ceremony, a manufacturer statement worth reading as such rather than as independent commentary. What no independent source has yet produced is a full written sea trial: every review circulating online, including one under a third-party byline, turns out on inspection to be Baglietto's own press release republished.
One thing worth flagging to anyone researching this boat: a completely different 42 metre Baglietto, built in 2025 with different engines, tonnage and draft, is also named Rush and is separately brokered by Northrop & Johnson. The two yachts share nothing but a name, and their specifications should never be merged. On this RUSH, a new-build slot on the same platform is currently quoted at roughly EUR 27 million ex-VAT for a 2028 delivery, though that only prices a new sistership, not what the original hull cost her owner. She is not currently on the used or charter market.
Motores y sistemas
| Hull identity | First hull of the line, named RUSH, delivered to a European owner in 2022. Baglietto and press materials also call the line the Fast 42 in newer sales copy for later hulls; Boat International's directory has separately labelled her SUPERFAST43. All confirmed as the same 41.7m/399GT vessel by matching dimensions, tonnage and engines. |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | 41.70 m LOA, marketed as 42m, 8.70 m beam, 2.10 m draft, confirmed across five independent sources (Megayacht News, Yacht Harbour, a brokerage review republished from Baglietto's own copy, Romeo United Yachts, Boat International's directory). One outlier gave a 1.4 m draft and is discarded as a likely error against every other source, including Baglietto's own release text. |
| Gross tonnage | 399 GT, confirmed by YachtCharterFleet listing data and a Boat International directory entry. |
| Construction | Aluminium hull and superstructure, teak decks, planing hull form, classed RINA with a MACH notation per YachtCharterFleet. |
| Naval architecture | Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture, also trading as Plana Design, confirmed as the same outfit via the firm's own company page. |
| Design | Francesco Paszkowski Design for exterior and interior concept, with interior detailing by Margherita Casprini. |
| Main engines | Three MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesels driving two conventional shaft-line external drives plus one central Voith Linear Jet, confirmed by Baglietto's own press copy, Megayacht News, Boat International and two brokerage listings. |
| Engine power | Not fully resolved. Yachting-press copy cites roughly 2,400 to 2,435 hp per engine; MTU's own factory datasheet for the 16V2000 M96L rates it at 1,939 kW, about 2,600 mhp, at 2,450 rpm. Neither figure is single-sourced, so both are reported here rather than one being picked. |
| Top speed | 28 knots, confirmed by six or more independent sources. |
| Cruise speed | 24 knots is the figure repeated across the most sources, including Boat International's own directory. One brokerage listing gives 22 kn and is treated as the minority figure. |
| Range | 700 nautical miles at cruising speed, confirmed by three independent sources. |
| Fuel tankage | Roughly 40,000 litres. Single-sourced from a brokerage listing for a new-build sistership rather than RUSH herself, so treat as indicative only. |
| Fresh water tankage | Roughly 6,000 litres, same single-source caveat as the fuel figure above. |
| Guest accommodation as delivered | 10 guests in 5 suites on RUSH herself: a full-beam master forward on the main deck, two double VIP cabins and two twin cabins on the lower deck. Brokerage listings for new-build sisterships advertise an optional 12-guest, 6-cabin configuration, which is a build option rather than RUSH's actual layout. |
| Crew | 7 crew in 4 cabins, a captain's cabin plus three bunk cabins forward on the lower deck. |
| Generators, stabilisers, thrusters | Not published anywhere found. Baglietto's own site blocked automated access, and no press or brokerage source gives generator make or output, stabiliser type, or bow and stern thruster specifications for this model. Left out rather than guessed, a genuine gap in the public record. |
Lo que cuentan armadores y tripulaciones
Independent judging panel called her the fastest and largest in her class
At the World Superyacht Awards 2023 ceremony in Istanbul, the judging panel's verdict on RUSH was reported as fast, stylish and fully featured, a worthy winner, also noting she was the largest and fastest yacht entered in her category.

A manufacturer statement rather than independent commentary: RUSH represents the best evolution of the Baglietto tradition in performance motor yachts, said at the WSA 2023 ceremony.

The 2022 World Yacht Trophies jury gave RUSH its Best Exterior Design award, an independent industry recognition separate from the World Superyacht Awards.
World Yacht Trophies 2022 juryEditorial coverage of the interior reveal
Boat International's own editorial piece on the interior reveal praised the full-height glazing in the main saloon and the volume given to the full-beam owner's suite. This is descriptive coverage of the reveal, not a hands-on review or sea trial.
Boat InternationalNo independent sea trial or owner and crew testimony exists
Every review found online, including a brokerage blog post and a LinkedIn article under a third-party byline, turned out on inspection to be Baglietto's own press-release text republished rather than independently written, credited internally to the yard's own Chief Commercial Officer. No named owner, professional crew member, charter guest or journalist who has actually driven or sailed RUSH could be found.

Lo bueno y lo que conviene vigilar
Puntos fuertes
- Genuinely fast for a 42mA 28-knot top speed and 24-knot cruise off a triple-MTU-plus-waterjet driveline is unusual for a yacht this size, where most 40m-plus motor yachts cruise in the high teens. Independently echoed by the World Superyacht Awards judges naming her the fastest in her size class.
- Unusually shallow draft2.10 m against 3 m or more typical for a comparable 42m planing yacht, opening shallow anchorages and marinas most yachts this size cannot reach, repeated consistently across every technical source checked.
- Independently juried design recognitionWon both the World Superyacht Awards 2023, a category win rather than a nomination, and the World Yacht Trophies 2022 award for Best Exterior Design, two separate industry panels rather than marketing claims.
- A generous, well-placed owner's suite for a performance yachtA full-beam master forward on the main deck with a large en suite and walk-in wardrobe, a layout Boat International's own interior coverage called unusually spacious for a speed-focused planing yacht.
A tener en cuenta
- Modest range for the class700 nm at cruise is short next to a comparable 42m displacement yacht, many of which run 3,000 to 4,000-plus nm. The trade-off for the extra speed is more frequent refuelling stops on longer passages, and an ocean crossing is out of reach without support.
- No independent testing record existsEvery review circulating online recycles Baglietto's own press release, in one case under a third-party byline. A prospective buyer cannot find a single independent sea-trial account or owner and crew testimony describing how she actually handles, unusual for a yacht in service since 2022 that has already won two industry awards.
- A thin resale comparables poolRUSH is a one-off custom build from a lower-volume Italian yard, not a production series with dozens of comparable used listings. She is not currently on the used market, and the only sistership currently brokered is a new-build order with a 2027 to 2028 delivery window, leaving a future seller very few direct comparables to price against.
- Real gaps in the published spec sheetGenerator make and output, stabiliser type, and bow and stern thruster specifications are not published anywhere in the press or brokerage material checked, an unusual omission for a 40m-plus yacht and something a buyer would have to request directly from the yard.
Información práctica
| New-build price, RUSH herself | Not published. Every brokerage and press source treats her as a custom one-off, and no original contract price was found. |
|---|---|
| New-build price, current sistership orders | A new-build slot on the same platform is currently brokered price-on-request with a 2027 delivery window by one broker, and at roughly EUR 27,000,000 ex-VAT without options for a Q4 2028 delivery by another. Useful as an order-of-magnitude proxy for what a new example costs today, not what RUSH originally cost. |
| Used-market availability | RUSH is not currently listed for sale, confirmed via three separate listing sites all showing her off-market. |
| Name-collision warning | A completely different 42m Baglietto is also named Rush, built in 2025 with different engines, tonnage and draft, and is separately brokered. The two boats are unrelated beyond sharing a name and their specifications should never be merged. |
| Charter availability | Confirmed not available for charter by two separate charter listing sites. |
| Ordering process | Baglietto builds this line as a custom or semi-custom one-off per owner; RUSH was commissioned by a European owner to a Paszkowski exterior and interior concept. Brokered new-build slots currently quote multi-year lead times, with 2027 to 2028 delivery windows quoted by two separate brokers. |
| Layout flexibility | The guest configuration is not fixed across the line. RUSH herself has 5 cabins for 10 guests, while new-build order sheets advertise an optional 6-cabin, 12-guest layout with interior design left open at order stage, meaning a buyer today would be customising the layout rather than inheriting RUSH's exact one. |
| Running and crew costs | Not found in any source checked. No crew budget, refit or running-cost figures for this specific yacht were published anywhere in the sources reviewed. |
