Motori e impianti
| Engines | Not independently confirmed. Public sources (Boat International, YachtBuyer, Yacht Harbour, Amels Yachting) describe propulsion only as a 'Hybrid by Amels' diesel-electric system enabling peak-shaving and electric station-keeping, without naming engine make, model, or horsepower. |
|---|---|
| Generators | Not published in any source found. |
| Stabilisers | Not published in any source found. |
| Thrusters | Not published in any source found. |
| Fuel and water tankage | Not published in any source found. |
| Range and speed | 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots cruising, 16.5 knots maximum speed. Consistently reported across Boat International, YachtBuyer and Amels Yachting's own site (two or more independent confirmations for each figure). |
| Classification | Lloyd's Register, per YachtBuyer's listing for Netto II (hull 2). Not independently confirmed as stated for other hulls, though Lloyd's class is described by the shipyard as standard across the Limited Editions range. |
| Flag | Cayman Islands, reported by YachtBuyer specifically for Netto II. Flag state for other hulls, including Pangea, was not found published. |
| Hull and superstructure | Full-displacement steel hull with aluminium superstructure; naval architecture and engineering in-house by Damen Yachting. Reported by YachtBuyer and general fleet-spec listings. |
| Gross tonnage | Reported inconsistently: 2,175 GT for the model generally and for Pangea (Boat International, YachtBuyer, Yacht Harbour, Megayacht News), 2,197 GT specifically for Netto II (YachtBuyer, Navis Yachts), and 2,200 GT on Amels Yachting's own official model page (shipyard's own figure). Treat as approximate; it appears to vary slightly hull to hull. |
| Beam and draft | Beam 12.5m and draft 3.6m widely reported for the model (Boat International, YachtBuyer general listing, Yacht Harbour, Amels Yachting). YachtBuyer's page for Netto II specifically gives beam as 12.3m, a discrepancy not resolved by any source found. |
| Accommodation | 14 guests in 7 cabins; crew reported as either 20 or 21 depending on source (Boat International, YachtBuyer, Yacht Harbour, Megayacht News, Amels Yachting). |
| Sun deck and beach club | 200 sq m sun deck; beach club opening on three sides with a 6.5m pool with glass-bottomed sections above it. This is the shipyard's own press description of Pangea, repeated in delivery coverage by Boat International, Yacht Harbour and Megayacht News. |
Cosa convince e cosa va valutato
Punti di forza
- Fast build time for an 80-metre yachtPangea (hull 1) went from concept introduction in 2022 to delivery in mid/late 2025 (sources give dates between July and October 2025), roughly 3 years. Yacht Style and Boat International both report this as a direct benefit of the pre-engineered Limited Editions platform versus a typical 4-plus year full-custom build timeline.
- Independent award recognitionPangea received a Judges' Commendation in the Displacement Motor Yachts 1,500-2,499 GT category at the World Superyacht Awards 2026 (reported by Boat International), and the Amels 80 model won a Yacht Style Award 2025 in the 60-80m superyacht category (reported by Yacht Harbour). These are independent industry juries, not shipyard self-promotion.
- Strong early order bookAt least five hulls were sold within about three years of launch, with a sixth (Amels 8005) reported sold for 2027 delivery (Boat International). That is real market validation beyond a single flagship sale for a brand-new 80m platform.
Da valutare
- Semi-custom platform limits structural customizationBoat International's own explainer on the Limited Editions concept states that roughly 50-60 percent of the hull design and engineering is fixed before an owner starts customizing, meaning naval architecture and core systems are not open to full-custom-level changes. Personalization is largely confined to interiors and aesthetics, not hull form or systems architecture.
- Core technical specifications are not publicly disclosedNo source found in this research (shipyard, brokerage, or trade press) publishes engine make/model, horsepower, generator, stabiliser, or thruster details, or a confirmed base price for the model. That is a real transparency gap for anyone trying to compare this yacht against named-engine competitors on paper.
- Published specs are inconsistent hull to hullGross tonnage is reported as 2,175 GT for the model generally and for Pangea (Boat International, YachtBuyer, Yacht Harbour, Megayacht News), but as 2,197 GT specifically for Netto II (YachtBuyer, Navis Yachts) and 2,200 GT on Amels Yachting's own official model page. Beam is reported as 12.5m generally but 12.3m specifically for Netto II (YachtBuyer). This suggests hull-to-hull customization changes the figures, but it also means no single spec sheet can be taken as authoritative across the series.
Informazioni pratiche
| Purchase price | Not published as a fixed model price. Trade press report only approximate brokerage asking prices for individual forward-order hulls: about EUR 195 million per YachtBuyer's coverage of the delivered series, and a separate report put the next available hull (Amels 8005, 2027 delivery) at approximately EUR 190 million. These are different hulls at different points in the order book, not one confirmed list price, so treat both as approximate brokerage figures rather than a shipyard MSRP. |
|---|---|
| Running costs | Not published. No source found in this research (shipyard, brokerage, or trade press) discloses annual running costs, crew budget, or maintenance figures for this model. |
| How a buyer approaches this model | Either as a new-build forward order directly through Damen Yachting / Amels Yachting's sales team under the semi-custom 'Limited Editions' program (current quoted delivery slots run out to 2027), or via brokerage. Burgess has acted as owner's representative on at least three of the five hulls sold so far, including the first delivered hull, Pangea (reported by Boat International and Damen Yachting's own press material). |
| What is not published | Engine make/model and horsepower, generator make/output, stabiliser brand and model, thruster specifications, fuel and water tankage, a fixed base price, and owner identities are not disclosed in any source found. Public materials describe the propulsion only generically as a 'Hybrid by Amels' diesel-electric system. |
