Volumi Zuretti sotto coperta

Motori e impianti
| Main engines | 4 x MTU 16V 4000 M73 diesel, 2,560 kW / 3,433 hp each at 1,970 rpm, twin-screw shaft drive - confirmed by Feadship's own site, YachtCharterFleet, and Romeo United Yachts/itboat. A Wikipedia-derived summary alone cited a conflicting 20V 4000 M73 designation and combined 10,240 kW figure, which disagrees with every other source and looks like an error. |
|---|---|
| Generators | 2 x MTU 12V 2000 M51A plus 1 x MTU 12V 2000 M41A at 1,500 rpm, per Feadship's own specification sheet; part of a hybrid engines-generators-battery bank arrangement that Feadship states cuts energy use by roughly 30 percent versus a comparable yacht - the yard's own efficiency claim, not independently audited. |
| Gearboxes | Not disclosed in any public source found. |
| Stabilizers | QC-2600 XT system with 2 x QP30/30 HPU and XT T2 units, providing both at-anchor and underway stabilization, per broker/aggregator listings - a single-source figure not cross-verified against Feadship's own site, so treat with some caution. |
| Thrusters | No bow/stern thruster make, model, or power specification found in any public source. |
| Watermaker | No make, model, or output capacity found in any public source. |
| Fuel tankage | 256,000-256,559 litres (Feadship's own site gives 256,559 l), consistent across Feadship, YachtCharterFleet, and Romeo United Yachts/itboat. |
| Fresh-water tankage | 56,000-56,120 litres (Feadship's own site: 56,064 l), consistent across the same sources. |
| Range | Disputed between sources: 5,000 nm at 12 knots (Boat International, SuperYacht Times, Superyachts.com) versus 5,500 nm at 14 knots (Feadship's own site, YachtCharterFleet, Romeo United Yachts). The builder's own figure agrees with two brokerage sources on the 5,500 nm/14 kt pairing, but the discrepancy is noted rather than resolved. |
| Speeds | Top speed 22 knots, cruising speed 16 knots - consistent across all sources checked. |
| Hull and structure | Steel hull, aluminium superstructure, teak decking - consistent across sources. |
| Engine-room access/redundancy | No public detail found on engine-room layout, access, or system redundancy configuration. |
Cosa riferiscono armatori ed equipaggi
Owner specified an unusually large interior finishes palette
Feadship's own account of the build states the owner requested roughly 200 different interior finishes throughout the yacht. This is the yard's own account of the brief, not an independently verified owner statement.
FeadshipOwner wanted an exceptionally quiet, vibration-isolated yacht
Press coverage citing Feadship's project materials reports that Arnault's brief called for guest and owner spaces to be engineered for minimal noise and vibration. This traces back to the builder's own promotional account of the brief, not an independent interview with the owner.
LuxuoIndustry judging panel praised Symphony's exterior lines and finish quality
Symphony won the World Superyacht Awards 2016 in the large-displacement motor yacht (2,999GT+) category; the judges' citation described "stunningly beautiful exterior lines" and "incredible quality and attention to detail." This is an independent industry-panel assessment, distinct from yard or press marketing copy.
World Superyacht AwardsDocking in Havana amid a national blackout crisis drew public criticism
When Symphony docked in Havana in December 2025, Cuban outlets reported social-media mockery of the contrast between the yacht and the island's power shortages, including one commenter's quip to confiscate it and exchange it for a thermoelectric plant.
CiberCubaDocking in Tenerife triggered similar jokes about seizing the yacht to fund grid upgrades
Reporting on Symphony's visit to Santa Cruz de Tenerife noted that images of the yacht circulated online with users joking it should be confiscated to pay for an electrical-grid upgrade, shortly before the yacht headed to Feadship for a reported 10-year survey.

Cosa convince e cosa va valutato
Punti di forza
- Genuine engineering milestone for the yardSymphony was the first Feadship to exceed 100 metres in length and the first Feadship built to full compliance with the Passenger Yacht Code, confirmed on Feadship's own fleet page and repeated by Boat International, SuperYacht Times and Wikipedia.
- Independently recognized design and build qualityWon the World Superyacht Awards 2016 in the large-displacement category, with judges citing exterior lines and build quality - third-party industry recognition rather than yard marketing alone.
- Unusually elaborate interior design collaborationPairs veteran yacht designer Francois Zuretti with Peter Marino, known for LVMH-brand flagship store design; brokerage and technical listings (itboat, Romeo United Yachts) describe the result as one of the most detail-rich interiors on a superyacht of this size.
- Long, ocean-capable range with hybrid-efficient propulsionReported range of 5,000-5,500 nm at cruise (sources disagree on the exact pairing) from four MTU main engines plus a generator and battery hybrid arrangement that Feadship states cuts energy use versus a comparable yacht.
Da valutare
- Public specifications are inconsistent across reputable sourcesBeam is given as 14.1 m by Boat International and SuperYacht Times but 14.98 m on Feadship's own site; guest capacity ranges from 16 (brokerage/itboat) to 20 (Boat International) to up to 36 under the Passenger Yacht Code (Feadship, a regulatory ceiling not a normal owner configuration); crew is cited as both 38 and 27-28; range as both 5,000 nm at 12 kt and 5,500 nm at 14 kt. No single figure can be called definitive from public sources alone.
- No independent owner or crew interview exists publiclyEvery design-brief detail attributed to Bernard Arnault (requesting roughly 200 interior finishes, wanting an exceptionally quiet yacht) traces back to Feadship's own promotional account rather than an independent interview with the owner or captain; Arnault does not discuss the yacht in the press.
- Recurring reputational liability in portSymphony's scale makes it highly recognizable, and it has drawn documented public backlash on at least two occasions for appearing in economically struggling locations - Tenerife (grid-cost jokes) and Havana (blackout-contrast criticism reported by CiberCuba) - a real PR cost of being one of the most conspicuous yachts afloat.
- Cost figures are soft, and there is no market test of valueThe widely repeated approximately $150 million build cost and $10-15 million a year running-cost figures (SuperYachtFan, DMarge, CiberCuba) are not confirmed by Feadship, the owner, or a broker. The yacht is privately held and not chartered, and a Romeo United Yachts listing explicitly marks it currently not for sale, so there is no recent transaction or charter income against which to validate any valuation.
- Aging past its first decade, into major-survey territoryDelivered in 2015 and refitted in 2022, Symphony was reported in 2026 as heading to Feadship for her 10-year survey - a normal but costly milestone for a yacht this size, and another data point the owner has not addressed publicly.
