Engines2 x MAN V12 diesel, offered at either 1,400hp or 1,550hp per engine (consistent across Azimut official site, Yachting Magazine, and Barche Magazine).
Top speedCited as 24-25kn by Azimut's own site, but independent sea-trial readings were lower: 23.6kn (Yachting Magazine, half-load trial) and 23.0kn (Boat International); Barche Magazine and Yachts Croatia both cite ~25kn. Actual top speed depends on engine option and load, and published figures do not agree.
Cruise speedDisputed across sources: 18-19kn (Azimut official), 19kn at 2,000rpm (Yachting Magazine sea trial), 20kn (Boat International), 21kn 'optimal cruising' (Barche Magazine), 18kn (Yachts Croatia).
Range~350nm at cruise speed with 10% reserve, per Yachting Magazine's sea-trial-derived calculation; up to ~1,500nm at 9.5kn in displacement mode, exploiting the Dual Mode hull's low-speed efficiency. No official Azimut range figure independently verified beyond this.
Fuel capacity8,100 liters (Azimut official spec) vs. 8,000 liters (Yachts Croatia) - minor discrepancy between sources.
Water capacity1,500 liters - consistent across all sources checked.
Generators / house powerA 28kW generator option is referenced in brokerage-listing summaries. Azimut's own site also describes a 75kWh lithium battery bank enabling a 'Zero-Emission Hotel Mode' for overnight hotel-load operation without running the generator.
StabilizationHumphree electric fin stabilizers with interceptors for trim control at all speeds, per Barche Magazine's technical write-up.
ThrustersBow and stern thrusters are fitted; specific kW/power ratings were not found published independently. One brokerage listing notes a stern thruster as an optional item rather than universally standard.
Hull / superstructure constructionDual Mode semi-planing hull (GRP plus carbon fiber) by naval architect Pierluigi Ausonio (Studio Piana) working with Azimut's in-house R&D/Technical Department - featuring an upper chine for low-speed stability, a lower chine to cut resistance at higher speeds, and a central skeg for directional stability, transitioning from displacement to planing mode around 16kn. The superstructure uses 'Carbon Tech' construction claimed to cut weight by up to 30%. Note: this hull lineage is distinct from the Bill Dixon-designed hulls used on the earlier/smaller Magellano models (43 through 76); the 25M's Dual Mode hull is a separate, newer design credited to Ausonio.
Naval architecture / design creditsNaval architecture/hull: Pierluigi Ausonio (Studio Piana) with Azimut R&D. Exterior design: Ken Freivokh. Interior design: Vincenzo De Cotiis (concept), executed with Azimut's own interior design team.
Full dimensionsLOA 25.22m (82'9"); beam cited as either 6.30m (Azimut official) or 6.35m (Boat International, Barche Magazine, Yachts Croatia); draft 1.90m; displacement cited variously as 87.5 tonnes (Azimut official), 85,000kg, or 85.8 tons depending on source; gross tonnage 136.0 GT. Cabins/guests: 4 guest cabins + 2 crew cabins, 8 guests + 3 crew (Azimut official, Boat International) - though Yachts Croatia's review cites 5 cabins and 10 guests maximum, a discrepancy that is not explained by any source found.

Points forts

  • Dual Mode hull performance independently corroborated across multiple press outletsYachting Magazine, MBY, and Barche Magazine independently, on separate sea trials, praised the Ausonio-designed hull's handling ('light on the helm, turns precisely') and its ability to run efficiently at both displacement and semi-planing speeds - not just repeating Azimut's marketing language.
  • Genuine long-range capability, not just a marketing numberYachting Magazine's own sea-trial-derived calculation put displacement-mode range at up to ~1,500nm at 9.5 knots, independently supporting Azimut's long-range crossover positioning rather than simply repeating the brochure figure.
  • Vibration/noise engineering singled out by multiple independent reviewersThe rubber-isolated owner's suite, flexible engine couplings, and acoustic floor/wall/ceiling treatment were flagged as a genuine differentiator by both Barche Magazine and Yachts Croatia, not just by Azimut's own materials.
  • The Magellano range has an actual multi-year owner track record, even though the 25M itself is too new for itOwners of the older 43/50/74/76 Magellanos report on YachtForums that the hulls 'ride fairly well,' gelcoat holds up, and engineering 'leaves very little to be desired' - real-world validation of the dual-mode-hull DNA the 25M inherits, even if not proof for the 25M specifically.

Points de vigilance

  • No genuine 25M-specific owner testimony exists yetDespite searching YachtForums, Trawler Forum, and YBW Forum, all available 25M material is press sea-trial coverage or brokerage copy. The model's newness and low production volume mean there is no independent owner voice to weigh against the marketing and press narrative.
  • Published performance figures disagree meaningfully across sourcesCruise speed is variously cited as 18 knots (Azimut official, Yachts Croatia), 19 knots (Azimut official, Yachting Magazine), 20 knots (Boat International), and 21 knots (Barche Magazine). Top speed is cited as 23.0 knots (Boat International), 23.6 knots (Yachting Magazine sea trial), 24-25 knots (Azimut official), and ~25 knots (Barche Magazine, Yachts Croatia). None of these sources reconcile with each other.
  • Basic specs disagree between sources: displacement, beam, and even cabin countDisplacement is given as 87.5 tonnes (Azimut official), 85,000kg (Barche Magazine), and 85.8 tons (Yachts Croatia). Beam is 6.30m (Azimut official) vs 6.35m (Boat International, Barche Magazine, Yachts Croatia). Most strikingly, cabin/guest capacity is cited as 4 cabins/8 guests + 2 crew (Azimut official, Boat International) versus 5 cabins/10 guests (Yachts Croatia) - a real discrepancy, not a rounding difference, that no source explains.
  • No independent WOT fuel-burn table; the only figures available disagree with each otherYachting Magazine's sea trial recorded 101.4 gph at 19-knot cruise; Yachts Croatia's separately reported 350 l/h (~92 gph) at 18-knot cruise. Both are single at-sea readings from press outlets, not a class-society or independently audited fuel table, and they do not fully agree even after converting units.
  • Production/rarity figures are inconsistent and effectively unverifiableSecondary trackers cite wildly different totals - 28 or 29 units built per one source, versus only 6 delivered as of an earlier date per another. Azimut does not publish an official hull-number or production count, so none of these figures can be confirmed.
  • High acquisition cost with a wide, options-driven price spread; weaker US service reputation noted for the rangeNew base/standard price is cited around EUR 4.72M, but brokerage listings for lightly-used 2024-2026 hulls range from about EUR 4.2M to EUR 5.5-5.6M depending on options (one listing notes over EUR 1M in optionals on top of base price). Separately, general Magellano-range forum commentary (not 25M-specific) flags a weaker US after-sales service reputation compared to the Mediterranean, and limited fresh-water tankage (1,500L, cited by an owner as lasting only 3-4 days for four people) as a practical cruising constraint.

Informations pratiques

Production statusIn production since ~2020; current build slots for 2024-2026 delivery are actively listed by dealers. Total units built is disputed between secondary sources (28-29 cited by one tracker vs. 6 delivered as of an earlier date by another) - Azimut does not publish an official hull-number/production count, so no figure here should be treated as confirmed.
New priceApproximately EUR 4,720,000 for the standard/base version per brokerage-sourced pricing; commonly quoted as rising well past EUR 5M once options are added (one 2024 example was marketed with over EUR 1M in optionals).
Used market pricingBrokerage asking prices seen: ~EUR 5,500,000 (2024 build, Varazze, Italy, via Allied Yachting); ~EUR 5,600,000 (2024 build, 2 weeks' owner use, Mediterranean, per YachtWorld-sourced summary); 'from EUR 4,200,000' for a 3-year-old example. These figures come from different listings and are not reconciled against each other.
Charter availabilityNo dedicated charter-fleet listings for the 25M were found in this research. The market presence found is exclusively new-build sales and brokerage resale; charter availability is not established either way and should not be assumed.
Competing models (long-range crossover class)Sirena 78 (Open and Enclosed variants), Fleming 78, Nordhavn N80 and N86, and Ocean Alexander 27E/28E Explorer are cited by yacht-comparison sources as the direct rivals in this size/mission class.
What is NOT publishedNo independent WOT fuel-burn table from a class society or independent tester (only single at-sea press readings, which disagree with each other); no reconciled official cabin/guest count (4 vs. 5 cabins cited by different sources); no official production/hull-number count; no published bow-thruster kW rating (only a stern thruster mentioned as optional in one brokerage listing).
